New lumia 550 in asda handsworth Sheffield £50.
Says Vodafone but I'm not sure if asda phones are unlocked and just come with a SIM card for whichever brand it is.

Just spotted this in Asda Nuneaton @ £45. Why bother if top up is £10? I've had a Lumia for years and write my own apps for it. I can't understand why people pay through the nose for an Apple - they must be fruits!
You have to sign up to a minimum of one 30 day bundle of £10.

What I had heard but can't confirm is that phones sold in asda are unlocked but bundled in with whatever network SIM card was advertised with.
Take that with a pinch of salt though and don't buy this expecting it to be anything other than Vodafone.

At 8:00 this morning the offer was still on for £49.99 + £10.00 top up making it £59.99. you are correct though, this is now £59.99 + £10.00 top up making it £69.99. Making this deal hotter.
Phones from CPW are unlocked though no matter what network you purchase. (Not sure whether iPhones lock to the first inserted SIM as I have heard this in the past but never tried it out.)

Your link points you to locked phones ...
Plus you have to add £10 top up making it £69.99 ...

When you factor in the hunt to find an Asda that has it at this price, the price to unlock and Voda bloat and annoying splash screen it'll most likely have you'd be better off getting it for £59.99 unlocked at CPW.

Just checked and it's still on offer: http://m.carphonewarehouse.com/mt/http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/phones/microsoft-lumia-550/ppay?colourCode=BLACK&intcmp=UKLP16_LP_payg_550_070416
Voting hot though though cause this is the best price if you want the phone on Vodafone pay as you go and are actually planning on using the network.
