Not a bad price for the MSI AMD Radeon R9 380 GAMING 2GB Graphics Card with FREE Ashes of the Singularity game. Yes it is only 2gb not 4gb but i cant see any other deals close to this for a decent branded (personally not a fan of XFX or HIS) card from a decent retailer.
Main Features:
Core Clock / Memory Clock 1000 MHz / 5600 MHz (OC Mode) 980 MHz / 5500 MHz (Gaming Mode) 970 MHz / 5500 MHz (Silent Mode)
2048MB GDDR5
Dual-link DVI-I x 1
Dual-link DVI-D x 1
HDMI x 1

Good but apparently you might get some stutter in some games with only 2gb Vram as opposed to the 4gb version. Still a good deal though. YouTube Benchmarks

Good price for the card with a game that interests me too. If only it was a couple of cm smaller I would have snapped this up.
Having said that: It's worth bearing in mind that AMD are moving to 14nm this year, which translates to faster cards or much less power consumption. Basically if you're not desperate to upgrade right now, I'd recommend you wait just a few more months.

Reassessed? That was in plans that older Graphics cards will be supported.
Besides 2gb? It's not that much.

Async compute strikes again for AMD
:-)
Meanwhile for Nvidia it's still a GTX970 recommended.

HIS made some very good cards in their time, has quality suffered as of late?

I had the Sapphire Nitro 4GB version of the card- dreadful. I went through to two and way too buggy. Now I have an MSI 970 (£210) and it is a very well put together card so MSI are a strong manufacturer. The Sapphire was also fantastically built only let down by dreadful, dreadful AMD drivers.

So seriously, competition is great but what does Async have to do with this? Happy to be educated, just don't see the relevance?

Ahh, I'm so glad you're here. There's another reason we're all abandoning Nvidia, isn't there? You did suggest that you had some inside information about "big announcements" in March that would leave Nvidia high and dry, right?
Now, I like to think of myself as both fairly up-to-date on graphics tech, and a keen shopper. However, not only did I apparently miss these "big announcements", but I haven't seen all of these used Nvidia cards flooding the market. What exactly is it that I have missed?
The cynic in me wonders if you were just inventing something - anything - to forestall someone from buying a Nvidia card! Surely that's not the case? :man:
Perhaps you should finally respond to Nate1492's comment:
Because, to my eyes at least, it seems that you've just been sharing false information yet again.

Perhaps we've answered the question, whatever happened to mystic meg?
I just checked the give website and they recommend an r9 290, so not sure what he's going on about

Eriously though, you spend that much time on me. I'm flattered. Lol
What happened at GDC last month that meant we should all abandon Nvidia?

Good for you.
Lets take a look at how Nvidia continue to mess up this years drivers for their GPU's
The last three months they can't even get that right. Not even paid marketers/Astro turfers are able to stop the truth about poor drivers.
Yes, I'm completely erious.

(By the way, if you think it takes a long time to hit ctrl-D, and later copy/paste some text, it's possible that you may be experiencing some driver issues? Only takes me a couple of seconds.)

Ooooooooooooooo, good card. nice price, bit better than a 960... bit thirsty though, and it this price (even though cheapish) point might put some people of.
Although it's not VR ready, you could slap another one in crossfire. But not really the best combination really.
AMD drivers are much better now.... hey, it''s hard to find realiable staff these days!

It was a genuine mistake.
I, unlike many others here can accept when I am wrong. They made a mistake and updated it.
