That's true. I only buy new games if they are brand new and really want it (as there's hardly any difference in price at that stage). When there is sensible pricing for downloads, if it ever happens, I'll do that. When the online price is generally twice as much as the used price, I think I'd have to have serious brain problems to buy the download tbh. If companies overcharge when they can, I'll under pay when I can. That's how I look at it.

I just moved bought a whole suite from a house clearance place for £10 the other week. Like new, but really old fashioned, but it goes great in our real old cottage. I'll use the hundreds I saved on that to buy a ton of used games over the next few years and get groceries etc. I realise not everyone wants a used sofa but there's something a bit demented about rushing out at 6am on Boxing Day to get in a bad credit agreement for something to put your behind on, in my humble opinion.

Actually i do get it. Its a consumerism thing where people are brainwashed to need to own everything new. Games no different to sofas, cars and houses etc. Its why there's so much debt about. But thats probably not a useful topic on a deal site i guess.

Interesting thought, but buying something new (or digital) supports the developer too.

yes, if you keep it i guess. I don't understand why people get sentimental about a game like that. i see it like books really. One from a library does the same job as a new one. (just smells worse).

i never worry about having brand new. After all, as soon as you open it when you get home, it's pre-owned anyway.

its not just the extras, its getting a brand new game compared with pre-owned, but yes, its worth it

It is a great game. Although I'm not sure I see value in this standard edition pre-owned at £9.99. Given that the Game of the Year edition is £14.99 new at both Game and Amazon.
