With summer just around the corner and bright sunny days close in sight, now is the perfect time to get your car checked thoroughly by our technicians.
During the inspection our expert technicians will check key operational systems and components to make sure everything is in perfect working order, including the windscreen, wipers, lights, brakes, tyres and underbody.
Afterwards we will talk you through the report and make a recommendation to you if any work is needed. However, rest assured there is no obligation to have it done there and then.
As a valued customer you will also receive a complimentary wiper blade replacement, if your car needs them when you have a Spring Health Check carried out, to prepare you for the April showers.
To book your free Spring Health Check, click here.
Here are a few ways you can tell if your car’s wipers need replacing:
• All Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts wiper blades are equipped with a special wear indicator. This is a spot on the end of the wiper blade that turns yellow when the blades need to be changed.
• If your wiper blades squeak, smear or streak, they are no longer making the correct contact with the windshield surface.
Click below to book your free Spring Health Check.
^Offer valid whilst stocks last. Valid from 1 April 2016. Expires on 31 May 2016. No cash alternative. No purchase necessary. The offer includes free wiper blade/s and free fitting for either the front or rear windscreen. Not valid on Magic Vision wiper blades. The free set of wiper blades will be given to customers whose primary reason for visiting the Retailer is for a Spring Health Check.

I've been using indies for years now as a result of my early experiences with main dealers on the forecourt and their servicing departments. I've never looked back, plus I've built up a great relationship of trust with my local specialist.
I maintain that the potential loss in residual value at resale is more than compensated by savings made with indie servicing over the years.

I know the feeling..... had a minor issue with my merc, they couldn't fix it but came up with a host of other issues they created whilst trying to fix the first issue, fortunately it was under warranty but the cost came to near £5k for all the work and still the first fault remained, in the end I popped into a local guy who found the fault in 5 mins and did the work for £37 all in, its worked like a dream ever since and I only go to him now. It went through 3 merc dealers each apparently more specialist than the last and none of them could resolve it, an amazing experience that I wouldn't want to repeat, free wiper blades, id rather pay for my own than go through al that again.

My friend bought an AMG C63 couple of months back. Must admit beautiful inside but thought the HUD would get annoying after a while, although I still don't like how the touchscreen in the current Merc range all looks like an afterthought tablet glued to the dash. Anyhow he ordered one, rang up couple of weeks later and said he wanted to cancel the order and had changed his mind. The dealer asked him why and he said he wished for the Airmatic suspension (or whatever it's called) but the upgrade was just abit too costly, the dealer asked him to call in and discuss abit more, he walked out with getting the upgrade for free (he had no intention of cancelling the order anyhow just wanted to see what they would offer!). Just something for you to barter with!
If you in that price range also try the Alfa Giulia Cloverleaf with the Ferrari 3L V6 Twin Turbo 503bhp,0-62 3.9secs. Well whenever it comes out and I've been reliably informed the range will be released at the Goodwood festival on 24th June. Can't wait myself!

thats like any where i went to an official peugeot dealership because i needed a new key coding to my 206 so they took it in took in the garage to pair it, half an hour later they came back with a 50 point "free health check" checklist which i didn't ask for and said my car needed loads of things doing to it at a cost of £780. Needless to say i didn't pay it.

£10 and 3 minutes spent on Amazon/Ebay/Halfords vs booking an appointment, driving to the nearest dealership, then sitting there for 45 minutes to hear that all four (perfectly good) brakes and shocks need replacing followed by 15 minutes of telling some pushy salesman to p**s off.
All complemented with 3 or 4 years of phone calls, text messages and letters inviting you for more "free" checks.

i reported two premium brand dealers for the same reason to the manufacturer. I couldn't bought any car in their showroom but turning up in a 13 year peugeot 307xsi, a 17 year old ford fiesta or a 10 year old merc a class, clearly they didn't think i was serious. Totally mad, some of us don't really need a car or change them every year but i thought i would get something half decent.
I went into each dealer three or four times and they ignored us over people turning up in more expensive cars. I deliberately didnt ask for service as i am not going to beg to be sold something. Spoke to the General managers in the end after manufacturer referred my complaint to them.
I explained that you can't judge someone by the car they turn up with or in other words a book by its cover.

So, you've got a reasonably recent Merc so one way or another you can pull a few bob together, so what's your time worth, £20, £30, £50, £100 an hour? Yet you'd waste it driving to the Merc dealer and waiting for a 'free' pair of wiper blades and wash? Think about it.

My previous car went into BMW for a service (just out of warranty) and they told me I had a leaking fuel tank, and I needed to pay £150+ just to get it on the ramps and have the under carriage removed to confirm the issue before repairs were considered. I kindly declined and drove 5 minutes down the road to an independent specialist who charged £35 and told me I had grease splatters on the oil tank, not a fuel leak.... all the big dealerships seem to try it on and I;m sure many people fall for it / get scared and pay over the odds.

Similar experience with Warrington. Needed grill replacing under warranty as part of the trim had come off while driving down the motorway. I had bought the car from Listers Grimsby but as Warrington is local to work, I thought it most convenient. They tried to claim that the missing part of the grill had been caused by an earlier accident, and refused to replace it under warranty. I rang Listers, sent them a couple of pictures of the grill, and they asked me to drive it over (from Manchester), replaced the grill, and washed and cleaned the car for nothing. I know who will get my repeat business in future! :man:

Would have a car (now they've sorted out shocking electrics around 2000s) but not from a main dealer - I turned up in jeans and a t-shirt but got completely ignored. Bought a Lexus from the main dealer in the end and everything, from start to finish, was just better - even when I had a warning light that appeared out-of-warranty, they checked it, washed the car, turned the light off and didn't charge a penny - while offering me a coffee as I waited. Mercedes, on my SLK, wanted £130 just to plug it into their STAR system for basic diagnostics.
I suppose though, a lot of the new Mercs (in fact any high-end marque) you see driving around are on 3-year leases, which means those customers are semi-locked in and will buy/lease new ones again when the 3 years is up - but the cars remain in warranty (so they don't have to cater to those who drive slightly older cars).

Going to a dealership should not be an ordeal. I don't want to be pampered and cosseted and lulled with sweet nothings to ease my wallet. If you have a great product it will have been sold before the customer walks into the showroom. Tesla staff are not paid on competition. The whole process of car buying and ownership will be disrupted by the electric car and non commissioned sales staff.

I think it very much depends on the garage. We've had mixed receptions. I nearly always wear jeans and hubby sometimes. Warrington were okay but not really attentive whereas Sheffield were lovely, drinks and eats and you could actually haggle with the sales team. We came away with just over 28k of car....so the question is how will we be treated back at Warrington ( our local) for any warranty work.
....as for the elderly couple, well that's sweet isn't it...wouldn't you like to think your parents were being treated like that.

I spent 25k on my car...
Last month i walked in to Mercedes in my gym stuff (Trackie bottoms and hoodie)
Sat down and waited for Service staff to become available.
While i was waiting an old couple walked in (Well dressed) but got out of a very old beat up A class,
i couldn't believe it when i noticed not only was they escorted to the seating area but also offered
tea / coffee / cold refreshment or something to eat !!!!!! and the only thing they asked for was an indicator bulb
and not fitted.... Just the bulb !!!
their refreshments cost more than the Bulb !!!!! Yet i spent £350 on a service !!!!! and didn't get offered jack [email protected]
So i know exactly what your talking about.... its not how much you spend, its how your dressed in that place

....as for the elderly couple, well that's sweet isn't it...wouldn't you like to think your parents were being treated like that.
Take Note Mercedes....Don't judge a book by its cover
I'm sure you'll have plenty time to dabble into a c63. The test drive was fun, that noise just can't be beaten. I just sold my E-class on Monday so I'm desperate for something, almost bought a Focus RS yesterday in green lol
Up until recently I had considered my self reasonably intelligent. Bang goes that sentiment.
Free wash, vac and blades can't be missed though. Out for nowt as they say lol
My "requirements" are free wiper blades + wash and vac
Can imagine them 'suggesting' other pieces of work which might not really be needed. Maybe they can suggest they will fix all the blown handle LEDs which are under warranty..
