my 2for1 movies pass through meerkat movies just expired that I got from last year's post.
if you choose travel insurance for one day, in the UK, for one person (I chose business cover) you'll pay around £2-3 and then be able to claim another year's 2for1 cinema tickets.
Good deal even if you only go to the cinema once a year!
Yes people will buy insurances throughout the year but there's no guarantee that comparethemarket would be cheapest in the first place. For £2.23 it's a solid bargain! Thank you.

I managed to get mine for £1.97 last year. it's a good deal but probably getting voted cold because it's been advertised before

I think it is getting cold votes mostly because people normally have to buy insurance products anyways so technically will not have spend extra on top to get this.
IMO good deal.

Looking for meerkat toys?
Unfortunately travel insurance doesn't qualify for a meerkat toy, but you can take a friend to the cinema with 2 for 1 tickets for a whole year with MEERKAT MOVIES. Go to your account to claim your reward.
Buy your home or car insurance or switch energy with us to qualify for our most heroic reward yet; 2 for 1 cinema tickets and a Limited Edition toy.†

Similar to hayley I bought 2 quid or so travel insurance and after a long delay it stated the cinema pass had been declined. Perhaps they are getting wise to it?
tafkas to crazyshelby
16 Apr 161#36
There's nothing to "get wise" to; you're entitled to Meerkat Movies if you buy travel insurance. There were some issues at the end of March because of the increased traffic for the Batman/Superman toys, so if you think you were declined in error then just email the customer services team and they should be able to put it right. (I have some insider knowledge on this front)

Not actually correct, though, according to the current T&C on the website, which make it very clear that travel policies ARE included. There won't be a problem, with those T&C in place, and people are already reporting getting the required validation/activation.
3 Qualifying Customers

5 Qualifying Purchase
(a) Meerkat Movies is available to those who:
(i) Purchased: car insurance, motorcycle insurance, van insurance, contents and/or buildings insurance, pet insurance, life insurance, landlord insurance or travel insurance;

These are the T&C for a different promotion - 'Heroic Rewards (the Promotion)'.

For what it's worth, I had a rejection, complained and asked on what basis it had been rejected. 36 hours later they apologised and reinstated it.
I suspect they're just trying to limit the number of claims on the simple basis that most people will accept the situation and do nothing.

bought my insurance for £1.79, meerkat movies validated after 3 days
Opening post
if you choose travel insurance for one day, in the UK, for one person (I chose business cover) you'll pay around £2-3 and then be able to claim another year's 2for1 cinema tickets.

Yes people will buy insurances throughout the year but there's no guarantee that comparethemarket would be cheapest in the first place. For £2.23 it's a solid bargain! Thank you.

IMO good deal.
Everyman cinemas don't do them though.
It basically pays for itself in one trip, so heat from me
on the TV last night they were advertising the 2 for 1 deal, and also you get a limited edition Meerkat film toy at the moment.

Just bought for £2.
It was launched in late March 2015. Before that was Orange Wednesdays.
It will be very useful with my Cineworld unlimited card
Thank you very much OP
one question, may i know if 2 for 1 offer works on 3d movies??have anyone used before confirm this please?
thanks in advance.
Took 10 mins and already obtained the code for coming tuesday/wednesday.....i had opted for a one night travel insurance uk policy (whatever that means) for £2 with ERV.
Question regarding the Business Travel Insurance...
I put in the Dates for a 24 Hour Karting Race that I'm taking part in at Milton Keynes... Policy is with TopDog, Do you think that Travel Ins covers anything related to my trip or doubtful? Worth knowing Just in case either way I won't cry over £2.23!
It's the first time I've done this so how does it work once your in the cinema? Or is it Internet booking only?
One question guys, how do I get my code, via text or log into my CTM.com account?
Only downside is: Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.
Breaks up the week though!
But - the advantage is that we have much more time than most to use up those Tuesday & Wednesday slots.
Update
Worked without issue and all ready to use. Thank you again
Edit: NM, I'd forgotten to change it to 1 day travel.
Thanks OP!
Just waiting for my account to be activated

Oh well I can cancel the insurance I hope and get my £2 back.
Thanks.
You might have some luck here. Mine took about 24 hours, but by that point I'd already had to pay full price at the cinema annoyingly, I didn't think ahead.
How do we get the 1 year buy one get one free?
1. Meerkat Movie Terms, says Travel insurance is a valid qualifying purchase
2. Heroic Rewards Terms, says Travel insurance is NOT a valid qualifying purchase
When you try and get a new quote, it seems it's the newer Heroic Rewards that are the terms referenced now.
voting cold
I suspect they're just trying to limit the number of claims on the simple basis that most people will accept the situation and do nothing.

When you select the product type, it automatically gives you this option only (ie 2 for 1) and not the heroic one.
Go to here to do it correctly if you get stuck: Claim
Oh could you PM me it cheers.
