I would personally go with the dewalt brushless drill that's on offer in screwfix for the same price.

Tend to agree, whilst the Makita has more torque settings, and better batteries, the 30minute charger, brushless motor, extra torque, led light and the T-Stak case swing it in favour of the DeWalt for me.
The Makita is still an excellent tool though, just that there are other, better IMHO, options right now.

I wasn't sure which one of these to go for the other week. It was the all metal chuck that final swung it for me and I went for the DeWalt. I'm very pleased with it.

I used to think they were a gimmick but the led really helps in dark corners. I wouldn't go back to the dark ages now.

nope, you will need a HDMI switch, and they are like rocking horse stuff.
I have the BHP456 which has a bit more torque than this model, but I'm sure this drill is more than capable of doing whatever is asked. I have spare batteries but 1 x 3Ah will run all day and they charge up in no time so 2 batteries means you'll never have any downtime.
Very pleased with my Makita drill and would recommend it.

I went for the DeWalt 795 from screw fix instead of this. Brushless motor swung it for me. My DeWalt should last decades with any luck for the odd bit of DIY.

The drill MIGHT last, but I would be very surprised if the battery lasts decades & replacement batteries tend to be very expensive.
Unless, of course De Walt are the exception & have an ethical pricing system for batteries.

Im a pro sparks and have the next model u from the dewalt mentioned. The battery Ah is levelled out somewhat by the brushless motor. Also the heat generated by a brushed motor really does affect the longevity of the machine. Brushless dewalt every time.

Bhp 456 is brushless but only 1 battery for similar price.
