It’s 1968 and after years of combat in Vietnam, Lincoln Clay knows this truth: family isn’t who you’re born with, it’s who you die for. Now back home in New Bordeaux, Lincoln is set on escaping a criminal past. But when his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family on the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge through those responsible. Intense gun fights, visceral hand-to-hand combat, white knuckle driving and street smarts will all be needed. But with the right crew, tough decisions and some dirty hands, it’s possible to make it to the top of the city's underworld.
NEW BORDEAUX, A REIMAGINED 1968 NEW ORLEANS:
A vast, diverse and seedy open world ruled by the mob and corrupt officials and richly detailed with the sights, sounds and emotionally-charged social atmosphere of the era.
AN UNINTENDED AND LETHAL ANTI-HERO:
Be Lincoln Clay, an orphan and Vietnam veteran hell bent on revenge against the Italian Mafia for the brutal slaughter of the black mob, the closest thing to family he’s ever had.
REVENGE YOUR WAY:
Choose your own personal play-style, from brute force and blazing guns to stalk-and-kill tactics as you use Lincoln’s military training and gathered intel to tear down the Italian Mafia.
A NEW FAMILY ON THE ASHES OF THE OLD:
Build a new criminal empire in your own unique way by deciding which of your lieutenants you reward, and which you betray…
Don't forget, the standard CDKeys 5% off code will bring the price down to £21.84.

Knowing that people like yourself hate the very existence of games such as this and GTA makes playing them all the more enjoyable.

So did Mafia II, the graphics were great but the missions were rubbish. Drive across town. Have a gunfight. Drive back across town. etc.
Let's hope the developers put more effort into them this time.

mafia promotes violence.
I know you lot are going to argue about this in the comments section but I'm honest.
OK GTA is bad too..

GTA and Mafia et al are are aimed at adult audiences with the capacity to differentiate between fantasy and reality.
That's what the certifications (12, 15, 18, etc) are for.
Alcohol makes you drunk. Knives can be abused to cause harm. That's why they aren't sold to children.
Same thing, innit.

Just how exactly does it 'promote' violence? Depicting and promoting are two different things. I've only played the first game in this series and, although it does depict quite a lot of violence, I don't remember it working out very well for any of the characters in the long run - they were all in jail or dead by the end of the game, so I don't exactly see it as a ringing endorsement of a violent way of life.

I'll defend Mafia II to the death for its decision to choose relative authenticity over "GTA open world" expectations. What you've described is precisely what the mafia would do, there'd be no rampages or stunts or anything of the sort.

I hope they bring back the handling of the cars from Mafia 1. So many laughs (on ice).

Man I loved Mafia 2 so much. The radio stations and music were awesome, the ambience and whole feeling of the game had me captivated. Hope this is similar.

But how many people have you mauled with a baseball bat/samurai sword/machete/chainsaw etc? That's the real question.

Mafia > Mafia II IMO, although loved the way the ending of the first became a mission in the second!

Mafia 1 I loved. I could never get into Mafia 2 - it just seemed so different from Mafia 1. I would not pre-order Mafia 3 until I've seen some reviews. Just so unsure of the brand. Don't trust it to deliver.
