Got mine through Amazon. Yes there has been issues with build dates/serials starting from 505-509. I emailed LG the other day regarding the bootloop issues and they assured me newer versions have the issue fixed.

Well the Ebay auction says Asian. On my box there's a white sticker giving information. Mine says LG-H791 (32GB) at the top. I believe H790 or H798 are other versions

Is there a way of checking what version your phone is? In settings it says Europe. Really happy with phone no 4g problems yet.
deanoh11
15 Apr 162#58
All of the networks use 800mhz, all or partially for 4G. You have purchased the Asian version which lacks this band. This band is best for rural areas and for penetrating through walls etc. You could have issues in these types of environment on the Asian version. Worth paying an extra £20-30 for the UK version off Amazon tbh

Yeah I'm looking for a phone with a good camera as well. I think I'm going to get the nexus 5x,will be an upgrade from iphone 5s. You ordered from eBay, did you have any problems? I'm not sure where to order it from...

Tempted by this. Anybody know if the German version (LGH791.A3DEBK) has the same radio bands as the UK version?
Also, what charger will this come with, presumably not suitable for UK?

Really good to see this at a decent price, but for about a tenner more you can get an LG G4:
The G4 has microSD expandable storage, plus it has a better screen, camera, sound quality (via headphone jack), and slightly better battery.
I would only get the Nexus 5X if I really preferred that pure Android experience, if timely OS updates were extremely important or if the G4's 5.5 inch screen were too big for my tastes.
Choose wisely...

I've been looking to upgrade my iphone 5s, going back to android. I'm torn between nexus 5x or the nexus 6p. 6p is way out of my budget atm, so I'm swaying towards 5x but I can't decide! Anyone who's got the 5x, would you recommend it? Which one would you go for?

My wife has got this phone, She's had it more or less since day one, Very good and quick phone, Looks nice, My only complaint would be it seems very very light, Not sure it'll be that robust but a nice mobile and am tempted myself. She's had no issues etc..

Got this other week on ebay 20% off for £229.99 it's a brilliant phone camera is great had the LG G4 before and the lack of OIS and 16MP does not seem to detract from quality in fact I think photos are better. Battery lasts all day for me from 7am until next day off charge and Marshmellow and monthly security updates are great!.....

I was tempted to buy one of these being a Nexus 5 owner, but two things for me are missing which I require more so now than before.....removable battery and SD card slot. So I went for a LG G4 instead. But at this price it's worth it.

14 Apr 16#41
Probably never going to happen on a Nexus again for SD and for any none LG device for any other premium phone. I do wish this had stereo speakers, 64GB and wireless charging. I can see why no to the first two but feel wireless has been excluded because can't have on the 6P due to metal design (not fair for Nexus 5 owners wishing to upgrade to suffer) Trust me though as a owner of the 5 this is a massive upgrade.

Could you please point me in the direction of where you got your LG G4 from? I'm v interested in the phone but rather put off by the many reported motherboard failures for those phone on v6 Marshmallow.

Great Deal, although I got the LG Nexus 32GB for £209.99 from eGlobal Central (ordered it just before Easter after spotting the deal here on HUKD and it arrived 3wks later)
Someone asked in a previous post re eGlobal, if there would be Import Duty added on delivery the phone? Ans = No
The OP that wants to move from the iPhone 6 to this - Don't ! (Nexus 5X screen quality is inferior in comparison so the 6P is the better choice)
For me this LG N5x phone is a great upgrade from my 1st Gen Moto-G 16GB. I love the bigger screen for web browsing. Like a lot have said though, the battery life is dissapointing but the software updates have addressed problems the phone suffered from on it's initial release.
I purchased Tempered Glass screen protector for £1.99 from xtechonline at eBay, I highly recommend them.
I also purchased a NXET USB Type-C to USB 2 cable for £2.99 from digi-bay at eBay for connection to my PC
BTW - If you haven't got the cable mentioned, nor a USB Type-C port on your PC then you can use a free App called Airmore which will allow you to transfer data between your LG N5X and PC over wifi.

can someone please tell me should i pay in Euro or GBP. if i pay GBP, its coming as GBP 235, if i chose to pay in Euro, not sure whats the bank will apply and endup charing my account. any inputs?
M_z to valluri

I think only your bank can tell you that. They are all different. Some might change you a fee, some an unfavourable exchange rate.
ArthurDent1 to valluri
14 Apr 161#44
Depends on your bank - you can check what charges yours applies at MoneySavingExpert link (you can ignore the ATM charge as that only applies to taking cash out of an ATM).
It varies from nothing at all to 3% on top of the price and sometimes a fee per transaction as well.
Google will tell you the current exchange rate (€289 is about £230 just now - plus whatever fees your card/bank has).
Maybe so but that is the Asian version and lacks 800mhz band, making 4G very limited (and pointless) in the UK

This seems a bit expensive for what it is. Don't really get the hype around it. You can get a Xiaomi mi5 for a few quid more. And it's better in every way (ok - you don't get any after sale support but I personally never needed it anyway).
rob5ta to drbrainsol

its the pure android experience, and immediate updates which most people go for in the Nexus devices. All depends what someone wants more, all the bells and whistles or android as it is supposed to be.

Problem with these China based phones is long term support and camera. The camera on the 5X is amazing.

Noticed sellers were registered in USA. I wasn't sure if it would be a US version. I would have thought that with it being fulfilled by Amazon it would be the European version.

If you buy this from Germany will the phone still pick up all the UK carrier bands? I know the US version does not have all the UK bands so reception suffers.

I mistakenly thought that maybe as the item is fulfilled by Amazon then the restriction would apply. I am glad I was wrong as it give us better deals.

The German page says the following about shipping not allowed to the UK for this item.
"This item can not enter the United Kingdom - mainland are supplied. Please check whether other retailers this product in the United Kingdom - mainland . Provide further details"
Well, they took my payment and gave me a price for postage/delivery date for the UK. I guess I'll get a refund if they change their mind.
