LG Ultra HD 4K Freeview TV delivers picture quality with four times the detail of Full HD. Whether you're watching soaps, sports, movies or using Smart apps the 4K Upscaler lets you view it in quality. Sit-back, relax and enjoy.
In case there is any doubt, this is not a Smart TV.

Your better of with the JL9100 55" from John Lewis. It's £649.99, free delivery and a 5 year warranty. It's based on a higher spec LG model and is a proper smart TV.

Not HDR, so not really worth buying.

I have the 850v in my bedroom, 49 inch inch version. Cracking picture, decent blacks now I've tweaked the settings. I highly recommend it, and I have a pioneer kuro 9th gen as main TV

You could get a Panasonic for £699 from richersounds, 55CX680b, great reviews, actually a smart tv, basic local dimming and not IPS so no grey blacks and banding on football.
Budget LG tvs are budget for a reason. COLD.

Panasonic OS isn't great and very slow in my experience...my FIL has a 802 model and it's OS is archaic in honesty...

Didn't know Panasonic make Plasmas any more (although didn't actually notice that you said it was a plasma)

Why is this being voted so hot if it isnt a smart tv? Think id rather pay £799 at currys for a higher spec LG 55" thats smart rather than this

Keep an eye out on Tesco ebay outlet, I picked up a new Panny 50" plasma for £283 (normally £340 still cheap), great for watching football.

+1 I have an 47LA620V. the smart features are very good but the clouding caused by the back light is terrible. will never by an LG back lit lcd again. good price though

They have the worst build of any of the flatscreens I have.
I will never buy another again.

If you're looking for a 55" bedroom TV(!) then there's no reason this wouldn't be fine, although for everyone considering this TV, maybe consider this Hisense with 5 year guarantee from John Lewis. Reviews are generally positive I believe.
Seems like a great price and I know LG sets are highly regarded
Anyone know if this is a decent set i.e. Towards the top of the range, albeit not the most up to date. On the move so bit the easiest time to google it myself.

I believe this is towards the lower end of their range, but I'm not saying it's a bad TV because I've never seen it in person. The Argos description is wrong though, I'm fairly sure this is not a smart TV.

It will be a smart tv with web os and magic remote. Good price but screen quality will be pretty average.

Or maybe I should say their description might lead you to believe it's a smart TV.
