I got a faulty item and they need me to have a $10 refund. Crazy!!!
Gearbest Reply:
(1)We are able to refund $10 to your GB wallet.
(2)We can resend a new item for you. And you need to pay extra $30 for the resend.
My advise buy from UK not GearBest. Very bad customer service.

i'm fairly sure this is both illegal and against Gearbest's own T&Cs. If you bought the item from the EU warehouse, you are covered by EU customer protection law, which protects against unreasonable charges, of which tracked shipping to China will be one.
Nothing in Gearbest's T&Cs state returns must be made to China. It only mentions shipping is from Shenzen, which if you bought from the EU warehouse, this is not the case anyway.

it looks nicely built with the metal etc. can anyone confirm how it actually performs and whether it looks as good irl as the photos?
i used an infocus m330 for a month or so and was actually surprised at how smoothly it ran. shove a case on it and tell someone its a galaxy note and ur regular joe wouldnt have known the difference (with a launcher on etc)

Hi Alice
Why do i have to send RMA in china even though i bought it from EU Warehouse.
Did people use the code M560GB if they ordered from China? Takes it down to £75.02($103.99). Does not work in the EU warehouse..

Yeh I agree, anything close to £100 and you should start looking to get a good brand. Specs look good on paper but i dont think i would purchase this, probably has many bugs they need address which they wouldnt even bother doing.Plus this is something you might want for a while not a quick impulse buy and then dash away at your next bin collection. Been looking for a couple for my parents, was of thinking chinese ones but thought might go for a wiley.
I can vouch for this. The specs are misleading, hardly any optimisation is done on them because programmers are expensive to hire.
Once you start getting towards £100 it really doesn't make sense to risk one of these Chinese brands, go for a Vodafone Smart Ultra or a Wileyfox or something.
Sound advice. Teenagers can kill batteries quicker than you'd think is possible. Mainly sending stupid pictures of themselves to each other on Snapchat.

Unfortunately, it is a blue one (Mi4c) which looks a bit too much like a 5S, which is the reason for the transparent case (just had to buy more to show off the colour better!). Still, not too cheap at £180, but a fine piece of kit anyway.
Yes, still is an individual (one of the parents was a bit disturbed by her "racy" friends ie, normal youths). Yes, she doesn't go with the crowd, which is good (but I'm glad she has stopped going "anti-blond" and dying her hair black- it was really messing up the bathroom with the stains as well as not looking great).

This phone seems to have several names - the V5, i808. m808. There's a very good review of it on youtube (called V5) by some German dude. He describes the feel as 'premium' and that's after coming to it from an iPhone 6Splus!

Yep, that is backed up with this video review. Apparently heating issues have been reported by some users, but this fella didn't encounter them whilst doing his review.
Excluding the few .. It ain't ever going to happen .. Since when do kids yearn to have the latest "cheap" phone ? .. Or anything else for that matter . The " value for money" theory doesn't compute until they have to pay for it themselves .. Coupled with the " taking care of it" approach .. There now that's my sweeping generalisation for today.

Only downside would appear to be the battery doesn't live up to its stamina claims. Incidentally, the discount code quoted at the end of the review (M560GB) knocks 72P off the asking price . But still cheaper at Banggood, and by quite a bit if the topcasback comes through...

Superb, no fluff, help you make your mind up review here:
Excellent! Must fill you with pride that your daughter is an individual and not a sheep! It's not like Xiaomis (especially the new metal bodied ones) don't look every bit as nice as iPhones anyway, is it? I welcome the day when a Chinese giant like Xiaomi launch here and the kids pick up on them like they did (bizarrely) with Blackberry. At least the parents wouldn't have to worry about shelling out hundreds on a vastly overpriced fashion accessory. OK, probably won't happen but t'would still be great :stuck_out_tongue:

Look like a good price for the phone but be careful with Gearbest. It some of the worst customer service I have dealt with. I got a Mlais M4 Note from them. The screen just stopped working one day and I return the product. Did not hear anything from them for a long time.
Then got my phone back which seem to be fixed, Then the issue happen again and I ask for my money back and all they wanted to offer me was 30 dollars. The phone cost 100 Dollars. I spend at least two weeks sending emails and waiting for a long time for replies from customer services and it was always the same rubbish refund. Look for this phone from a UK seller. At least if it break you can return it and get a new one or repair in a week or two. Not the two months I waited for Gearbest to sort it out.

Do a charge back from your credit card- they can't stop that. Your card then takes the money from Paypal and Paypal take it from them.

So true .. The amount of kids having therapy because they didn't have the latest iPhone is going to to cost the NHS a fortune in years to come . If they didn't have Nike Airmax and something with Superdry Emblazoned on it gawd help us.

On checking, slightly cheaper asking price at Banggood who seem to have a better rep for CS (certainly on here and they did get my Meizu MX4 Pro to me much quicker than any Gearbest order). Plus cashback of 6.3% from TCB (mine paid out VERY quickly and the reviews on TCB suggest I wasn't in the minority)...
Edit: sort of agree about the potential battery life for a childs' expected normal use but iPhones aren't excatly over-endowed in the battery department...
Further edit: according to Kimovil, the screen has a pixel density of 424!! Correct??
Antutu not too shabby at almost 37,000 either!

2450mAh battery on a 1080p screen means your kids would need to charge this about 3 times a day if their use is anything like my kids'.
The Redmi 3 (not note) would probably be the best bet, seems a decent enough device all round but a huge 4100mAh battery on a 720p screen should get even the biggest social media addict through to bedtime, and a Snapdragon processor is always a bonus, albeit at about £25 more than this device.

Doogee f5 for similar spec or the cheaper doogee x5 pro at £60 is a better buy for me. Both have all the bands. I have bought 2 x5 pro phones for family as presents and would consider the f5 for myself if my current phone died
