Good deal, don't listen to the others, u dont need to take out credit to purchase from very you can buy from them l. £464 from £569 is a pretty good deal

Only problem is that they get stock on the 29th may

What you're saying is not true, you have to take out credit to use that 20% off code...its an incentive from Very to get people to take out credit. Yes, you can pay that credit off straight away, but that doesn't mean its not credit.

Heads up, for some reason my order messed up at check out and didnt go all the way through.
So I tried to do it again and when putting the 20% code in it says "You have claimed the promotion code the maximum number of times"

So I guess thats me out of luck.

Are you just trying to troll for the sake of it?
The OP isn't working for Very trying to get people in debt by taking out credit. He clearly says how to avoid keeping a credit account, and so you are making a large saving, which is what HUKD is all about.

How about you troll elsewhere?
alizi1
29 Apr 16 5 #10
Call me a troll. Thank you.

All I'm trying to make a point of is that this isn't a deal, its a 20% off code which has been exhausted on this website many many many times before. Deals like this shouldn't be put up in the deal section anymore, as they are promotion for company credit incentives.

How about I post everything individually from Very on this website, with this 20% credit code?...that's basically what has started to happen, unfortunately.
galactus2013 to alizi1
29 Apr 16 2 #11
I partially agree with what you're saying, but to be honest, so many people DON'T realise you can do this. It is credit but by all means, get your item, pay it off and ask Very to remove your credit, simple phone call away and you save £100+ off the retail price.

Slightly similar to O2 refresh deals constantly being put up, getting into an agreement, then paying the agreement in full (after 14 days) to keep what ever freebies they added in to sweeten the deal.

Out of interest for anybodys that used Very before.

I've ordered over the phone via BNPL, on the order section it shows credit balance etc but doesn't tell me when my next payments due or when I have to pay in full buy. I know its said to be 12 months but just thought there would be something in writing on your actually very account?

30 Apr 16 #18
I only see two options
Make Payment
Set up direct debit

And says "No payment is required"
I've already paid £164 when I ordered over the phone, recieved text this morning confirming its been recieved.
Is that why it may say No payment required?

This is a mess lol
Maybe I'll have to ring up to ensure im defo on bnpl because I dont see this option.
My credit balance has changed when I look at Summary, but it doesnt explicity say buy now pay later when you click make payment so I dont know when payments are due or how much minimum I'll have to pay each month.

Though when I go to set up direct debit it gives 3 options Minimum Payment, Take 3 or Total Balance.

Even on the summary page it says "Next statement due" but gives no date beside this.

I'll have to ring up again just for peace of mind.

EDIT: So It looks like it wasnt bought on BNPL, yet I was told it was over the phone wth. Thankfully I chased it up otherwise I'd be paying interest. At this point I can use Take 3 to pay off with no interest. The guy on the phone bascially lied to me, quite disgusting and eye opening.
Glad I spoke to someone about it otherwise

When I made an account with them ages ago, it took a month for the BNPL to show up. Should be on your next statement, 28 days from when you opened the account. Phone call wouldn't go a miss either though for peace of mind.

I returned my S7E because i chose buy now pay later but they still sent me a monthly payment request ! they are very sketchy so would pay off immediately if you intend to buy. HOT though same old half baked camera quality like usual.

1 May 16 #23
Nope wasnt on BNPL which is annoying and frustrating, I was led to believe it was when I rang up to order since it was being funny when ordering through the site. It was frustrating enough to deal with the person on the other line nvm coming to find out it wasnt bought using BNPL but simply on credit.
They said I can pay through Take 3 to avoid interest, already paid £164 so another 3 payments of £100 isn't so bad, would've rather spread it across a few more months but better than paying £512 at once...which reminds me I need to cancel my HTC.com order.
They said I can complain and have the call listened too lol, maybe they'll discount it even more for a goodwill gesture because I definitely was told it was!, wouldn't bet on it though.

Also theres potential cashback on this too at 7%, although tracking is hit and miss judging by previous very threads which could reduce it further to around £430.

Hopefully they ship before the 31st May! Eager to get a new phone.
galactus2013
1 May 16 #24
Ahh I see. I've never phoned them before, always done it through the website where you have to specifically add the BNPL 12 month option to your order. Yeah they are sending them out in waves, here hoping you get it before the end of the month

Tryna make a payment.

I've had nothing but hassle with this very stuff and I dont know why its been so complicated for me, shot an email off to customer service so hopefully I get a response.

Getting errors when trying to view statement too, well I think I am looks like a statement came out today but I wasnt notified but something said to be check and it looks like there is but im not sure.

Will try again tomorrow.

Think I may just pay in full because im limited to Take 3 and dont want to fall into the interest period because of verys systems not working properly for me.

God forbid anyone spends any of their disposable income on a luxury good. Oh, no...I forgot, people do that all the time, because sometimes owning things that aren't the bare minimum is nice.

Who are you to tell people what is or isn't a waste of money? If someone feels they'll get an extra £264 of enjoyment out of this phone vs a £200 phone, it's not a waste of money to them, is it?
pazuzu17
13 May 16 #57
Haha. Fair play.
pazuzu17
13 May 16 #58
I'm not telling anybody and I'm the first to 'waste' money on things I don't need or could buy for a lot less, it just feels with certain made in China phones the joke is wearing thin. Sure, a made in Italy coat (for example) is going to be a lot nicer than a Tesco's own coat, and the price reflects that, but the majority of these phones are made under the same sweat-shop...just an observation. Each his own.
jkchops
13 May 16 #59
Are you sure it's Very themselves? I only ask as it seems HTC UK have messed up pre orders on their own site...read their Twitter feed for the various issues. I don't know if HTC haven't anticipated the demand, had issues with shipping the phones from manufacture or something else.

My order placed on 6th May has remained as delivery by 31st May for the Silver/White version.
matt101101
13 May 16 #60
This is totally incomparable to a phone from China which would have basically no warranty support, if it malfunctions you have to either fix it yourself (out of your own pocket) or throw it away. HTC know that if they build a phone badly, they'll just end up with loads of the damn things back to fix.

Sure, the Chinese stuff from Xiaomi, Lenovo, Meizu etc isn't bad, but if you buy it from China it still comes with no real chance of any warranty support. However, stuff from other Chinese manufacturers, the ones which have the reputation of being crazy cheap for the specs, is nowhere near as reliable and has even less chance of warranty support.

I think "For a phone!?...Total waste of money" pretty strongly suggests that you don't recommend people buy it because it's a waste of money .

jkchops
26 May 16 1 #84
No idea if it will get extended as it's been running for at least a few months now. If you wait you may find that date (7th June) gets pushed back later if lots of people order so you could just end up waiting longer. I pre ordered when it said 31st May and i got it on the 20th May. I look at it this way, order now whilst 20% off is still valid and get yourself higher up the order queue before more people realise how good this phone is.
galactus2013

I'd order now tbh. If you really want the phone and want it cheap BRAND NEW I doubt a two week wait tops will change that. Most got their one earlier than delivery date but it's up to you really. It's a gamble regarding the code, you might wait and its gone or it might be there.

Hmmm I don't know if a colour of a phone would make me switch devices completely. Normally one would consider battery life, camera quality, audio etc. They trade blows in a lot of areas. Build quality wise, well the S7/Edge is fragile with it's glass back, fingerprint magnet too. The grey HTC 10 is prone to scratches, the Silver isn't but I HATE the Silver/White combo..........never been keen on white front phones though.
