Another cashback deal for the great HP ProLiant MicroServer!
Potential cashback, too. I haven't checked with any of the cashback sites.

It's actually £166.76 including VAT.
I bought this last time the cashback was on offer and it's awesome. Highly recommended.

This has to be invoiced and delivered by tomorrow I'm
Pretty sure to meet the T&C's unless they extend the promotion again but stocks seemed sparse at most suppliers at my last check. This is a big step up on the old range

HEAT!
Ordered but no funds taken so assume it will not be billed until after the stock comes in, at
which point the cash back will fail, where are you with your time machine when we need you

Small print says invoice dates up to 30th April (actually at one point it says 31st April but we'll ignore that!) so as long as your invoice has the right date you should be fine

Great server, recommend (bought it on the last deal).
Worth upgrading to a 1220L / 16GB if you can ... makes a great home lab

Given you can find a 1220L
Been looking on eBay for a few months, they are all quite expensive.

I got one of these the last time the cashback offer was on and finally set it up last week as a media server etc and its great much better than my old one, is it worth upgrading the ram in this? it seems to be pretty good with the standard 2gb but I was thinking of sticking more in it.

The i5-2390T supports ecc, and works in the server.

Media Center, Home Server, Small Business server, software test rig, web development... These are great for a huge number of things... and they're cheap.

Yes it can be changed in the bios, it's only software raid anyway!

If anybody is going to buy one of these, and doesn't want to deal with the cash back, I will be selling my not too old one on HUKD in a day or two cheaper than this. (When I can get home and take photos of it).

cold, whilst good in principle i have learnt the hard way, they have proprietary motherboard and PSU so if they go faulty you can't fix it.
my motherboard died, a common'ish problem (see the forums) and the replacement part cost an insane amount

How much? How long before it died? At this price u could probably buy a new one and sell the old as broken. I sold my old G7 at twice the cost of this just by including a couple of old 1tb HDDs. They seem to be in high demand on eBay (albeit working ones)
