They don't exclusively sell them without full HD screens. You *could* just look at a thread with more expensive laptops with full HD screens.
What you're doing is like looking at a post for a Nissan Micra and saying "why don't the do these with 7 seats. I got a 7 seater car 10 years ago".
And well done for owning a full HD screen 10 years ago. You must be very discerning.

Why are they still knocking out these low res displays and calling it HD? I've got a dell that's nearly 10 years old and its 1920x1200.

Because they are hd, just not full hd....

The newer Skylake version is not much more expensive and the processor and its GPU are quite a bit faster.
eg the Skylake i5 version of the laptop in this deal is available for £299 and is a noticeable step up in performance.
Worth the extra £45 IMHO if money is not too tight.
Not being lazy but does anyone know of a good deal on a similar spec (no optical drive, SSD, fairly recent i3 or above, 15") with full hd display?
Thanks in advance.

Anything similar knocking about with a mechanical drive? 128 gig isn't enough for what I'm after...

Yes I watched that video. It was helpful but the clips are very flimsy and will break for some.

I don't think these laptops have an easy access panel to upgrade the memory. You have to take whole bottom panel off and the clips are very easily broken.

There are clips on utube showing the back removal.
I don't want to sound like a knob stating the same thing as the guy above but I would like to try and add some context. The pictures you posted are higher res than the screen on this deal.

Great price, brilliant kit, good HD screen, good battery life ;-)
Great price and good to see more laptops with SSD drives at last. it's not full HD because it's very cheap....pay more and you'd expect a full HD screen.

I like these low res displays and on-chip graphics. Without a CD drive and a spinning hdd, the quietness, the weight and battery life are decent. I don't need high res on a laptop because I would just Chromecast straight to TV for vids
