All 4k TVs upscale to 4k so they can be displayed on the 4k panel -- it's the algorithms used for upscaling which makes the difference between good an bad upscaled pictures.
If this is anything like my 50" 4k Hisense then the SD picture is okay but not great, HD looks really nice, and true 4k content looks unbelievable.
Be aware this is a 2015 model, and there is still some confusion over whether this will receive an HDR update

Does anybody know if this TV supports Netflix 4k without the need for additional devices? Had a look on the Netflix site and it just says most Hisense TV's post 2014 are compatible.

It does support 4k Netflix with the built in app yes.

Can't believe how cheap these are getting. If it's anything like the one I have (58K700) bought from RicherSounds, although does have their 6 year warranty, this is a great deal. You will not be disappointed with the picture quality and sound is pretty good too. And when the badge snobs ask what TV you have just say 'you know Hisense, official sponsors of Euro 2016' :sunglasses:

Because Electronic manufactures are rated by whom they sponsor now, yeah!

How many HDMI ports and do you get 3d specs?

Mine arrived with one pair in the box. Wouldn't buy it on its 3d capabilities though as from what I've read it's not great.

I was sceptical about buying a Hisense but very glad I did. And it doesn't do them any harm to promote their name to some who have never heard of them

So does hisense come close to the new Samsung and Panasonic TVs? I just want HD and 4K, not bothered about 3D or sd quality

Without doubt! Don't listen to stupid comments like 'it's a chavs TV'. I talk from experience of having one and the picture quality is amazing. Also not sure what others are saying about the 3D but works really well on mine.

The biggest criticism of this series of TVs (and the curved 720 series) at present (pending a software upgrade) is stuttering of 4K content over HDMI - the inbuilt Netflix 4K app is unaffected, but there are reports of connected 4K hardware not playing ball over HDMI. As noted above interested buyers really need to spend some time reading the thread I linked to at AVF - it's all covered there.
Hisense are working on this, and an update is imminent. However, those looking for HDR compatability may need to look elsewhere as Hisense have given no confirmation that this series or the K720 series will receive this update (the 2015 flagship 65 inch model will, however).

Absolutely agree. I wouldn't recommend buying this TV for those that will want to hook up a 4K Fire TV or shield etc... The in built plex app is also a pain and crops certain types of video, see link below..
There's potential for this TV to be great if these issues are put right and once you have calibrated the picture - which also takes some time to get right but is a must in my opinion

Yes I get your point. I just don't see how a valid defence to anyone questioning the brands quality is "Oh they sponsor Euro 2016" :/ lol

It's a tongue in check comment! But sponsorship of a big event will no doubt increase their name in the retail market.

Spoke to an owner of this model and he had his first ones remote stop and due to spare parts they replaced the entire tv. Second one didn't work and onto the third. 3D is terrible but picture is great..he said well worth the sub £600 for that.

for that price (£699) your better off getting this one instead
