Homegear’s five-tier shelving unit is one of the most rugged on the market. Constructed from heavy-duty steel, each of the five MDF shelves can store an astonishing 265kg. That is unheard of compared to your average shelves.
This unit is also remarkably versatile. As well as shelves, you can also convert this to be a workbench or corner unit. The boltless design, slotted construction, and adjustable shelves will make it simple to make adjustments.
Conform to EN14749 standard
Use as shelving, bench, or corner unit
Steel construction
Powder-coated frame
Boltless design
Slotted construction
MDF shelves x 5
Adjustable shelves every 4cm
For domestic
Product weight: 25kg
Frame thickness: 1.2mm
Shelf thickness: 7.0mm
Shelving unit dimensions: 90cm x 45cm x 180cm
Workbench dimensions: 90cm x 45cm x 90cm
These are good in dry spaces, as others have said not so great in damp places.
If you want to place them somewhere less than completely dry then grab some bathroom paint and paint the shelves.
obviously do this while the shelves are off.

The only problem with these isn't the rugged heavy duty steel unit, it's the wood that fits in, which doesn't last, and isn't all that strong.

7mm thick, I take your point

It says steel and MDF, not aluminium and chipboard as most of times

With each shelf taking 256 Kgs steel is the better option.

good price for what it is but comments about the MDF shelves are valid. little use if there's any hint of moisture in your shed, garage or wherever it's being used. Concrete sectional garages seem particularly prone. I have something similar from about 12months ago and the MDF is now bowing and collapsing on a couple of shelves so will have to be replaced with OSB at some point.

How is it 24.99 with delivery? the code takes off £2.50 but delivery is £2.99. So it's £25.48 inc. delivery.

Good price. I have the 'extra wide' (120cm) version of these shelves. Very solid.

Just ordered 4. With the discount and delivery this seems decent. If I bolt them to each other, they shouldn't should be pretty solid

I don't like the fact that you don't have to create an account with them when you pay via Paypal.
I'm just waiting to hear from them to say that it's on it's way.

Will a couple of coats of paint stop the MDF absorbing moisture when in a shed?

mdf + moisture = bad. paint will delay the inevitable but you'll need to use a suitable primer. then Undercoat and gloss would be my recommendation. shame they aren't 12mm wbp ply. Could always get a sheet cut to size at wickes/B&Q..

I usually get shafted on P&P to Northern Ireland, but these guys only charged £4.95.
Just ordered 5 units, hopefully the quality is OK, could always top up the mdf with a bit more ply..
