Lowest ever price for this fast 64 GB USB3 stick. Good reviews. Metal body. It features rapid USB 3.0 transfer speeds. We tested the write speed to be a minimum of 65mb/s and a read speed of up to 135mb/s.The flash drive is finished in a smooth aluminium housing, complemented with a black cap to protect the USB end.

Grixx are just a brand, they have no involvement in the manufacture of their products, nor any expertise in flash memory. The stick is made by whatever Asian company was lowest bidder. Low grade NAND which is why you and many others report high failure rates.
Lexar S75 64GB on same site is 50p dearer. Approx same performance, and Lexar are part of Micron (one of the largest memory manufacturers) so I would have more confidence in the quality/consistency of NAND that goes into their products. Casing quality isn't great but between the Grixx and the S75, I would go for the Lexar personally.

I have a 128GB and 3 32GB, OK so far but not had for long, the 128GB one has very slow access times (way higher than portable mechanical hard drive) so makes smaller files not write as fast, all the 32GB ones have a normal very low access time though.

That's technology for you.
I remember buying Plextor (1 speed writing) cd writers , bought a couple of them actually at a whopping £400 each , my first plasma was a Panasonic 42" at an eye watering £3800 , the list goes on but thinking about it makes me feel quite ill , lol ....

Small capacity.
64GB.
How times have changed since the Amstrad 1512 meant a major break through for us ZX81 users.
That machine had advanced graphics too, a full 16 colours on 640 x 200 pixel resolution on a massive 12 inch ( ish) screen.

I was using the drives as additional storage on a laptop and transferring the files to a desktop at the end of the day. the first two failures were during that transfer - files wrote, and could be checked and used perfectly. I shut it down, and when the drive was plugged into the desktop, nothing. Completely unrecognised and I couldn't get any file recovery stuff to work at all. Tried on other desktop machines as well. The third failure was one of the replacements - I test loaded it with files when it arrived, and when I went to use it a week later I was getting all sorts of errors:
Initially I preferred the Grixx as they didn't get as hot as some makes (Sandisk cook themselves in the port) and I liked the flat casing as I could easily add a label that didn't peel off.

Been using 2 128gb for many months and they have not let me down. I use them for disk imaging so pretty intense usage.
Plus they double up as little hand warmers!

Various sizes of these have been posted before, but not this cheap for the 64GB. I've had 3 64GB and a 128GB, and two of the bought 64GBs have failed as has one of the replacements - all under warranty, thankfully. This is the worst failure rate I have had with any brand but I couldn't fault 7dayshop on their customer service. Wary with all flash drives, but won't have anything important on this brand.

Thanks. I have a 128GB version of this for the past 18 months(bought for over £30) and so far doing well. I was looking for another small capacity one(64 GB) and stumbled up on this price.

Been using two Grixx 64gb usb drives, not failed on me yet, just wondering how you're using your drives, so that i can play it safe. Do you have yours constantly plugged in and accessed 24/7?

Note that 7DS reduced the previously lengthy warranty on these drives to 24m some time in late 2015 - maybe 7DS were having too many failures returned to them?
