Just bought a £10 ticket from London to Bristol. I usually travel with Megabus but £10 on the train seems too good a value!!
To / From London (each way)
Bath £10
Bristol £10
Cardiff £15
Cheltenham Spa £10
Devon & Cornwall (all stations) £18
Oxford £5
Sale finishes 29 April and is for all travel 10 May onwards.
Hope this helps someone!!

trying to book bristol-oxford-bristol and the cheapest it gives me on the offered days is 40 quid. Normal price. What's going on? Anyone?

Try different dates/times. I think they have a limited number of sale tickets. They're probably all gone for the date you're looking at.
On a similar subject, looking at trains from London - Exeter, sale price is £18 but there are £14 tickets on slightly slower "overtaken" trains. Anyone know if there's any disadvantage to the even cheaper tickets, other than speed? According to the terms, you can change the £14 ticket for a fee, but don't seem to be able to change the £18 sale ticket at all.

I don't think GWR do any advance fares from London to Reading so this sale does not cover that. Also you can't buy a cheap advance ticket to Bristol and then get off at Reading! I've tried twice and both times had to pay the fare difference at the ticket barrier as it is against the t&cs of the advance ticket - just like the open jaw flights!

agreed. doesn't work from reading to London but does Reading to Birmingham as you can split at Banbury and stay on the same train. ridiculously it reduces the cost by about 65%

Fantastic deal, can't understand why this is not hotter.
My local line is the Swansea London line operated by GWR, and prices are usually ridiculous, £105 single from Newport to London on a week day at peak times, this deal allows you to travel for £15 ( Friday 10th June) saving you £90,

try Reading to Paddington on gwr or swt. a 25 min journey return was £51.40 a day before the changes. no discounts unless you get a weekly or dead on ticket. only 30 miles too

You need to look at Trainsplit.com - you can often save half your money by splitting tickets! The rail fare world is completely mad. Trainsplit helps restore sanity (and saves loads of money).

You get a reserved seat, basically a guaranteed seat for the whole journey.
