That's a pretty strange argument, the shave from 8.9p razor being compared to gillette? As weird as it may sound, its like comparing socks and shoes.
What do you get 1 blade for a tenner? I get a pack of ten razors from the Lidl for 89p

I imagine that even Frank Ribery would say your face is a tad mashed up as a result?

Should ask about a refund. Im on my second one and working perfectly still. Original was broken by myself and no fault of the product.

I had the same issue then I found out they don't work well with cheap batteries, put some duracell in and it will work as good as first use.

What's weird about it?
One is a cheap razor, the other is really expensive.
One has zero advertising, the other has an industry of advertising.
End result, they both do the same job.

This went cold when I posted it for the Clas Ohlsen deal because of postage. This is the same unless you spend £20.00 to get free postage, otherwise it's +£3.99 p+p.

I'm on my second one now after the first gave up the ghost after a couple of years. It works really well, my only criticism is the guides are a bit flimsy and the plastic retainer tabs snap off if you're not careful.
bought one last year and its probably the best razor ive ever used....under a tenner is an absolute steal and sizzling hot - cheers
...as for the post comparing it to Lidl's specials - which are blunted by a 15 yr olds bumfluff - thanks for the laugh

Great price and voted hot.
However if you intend to use as a beard / stubble trimmer using shaving foam/gel I would have a good read of all the 1 star reviews on Amazon (you can select all the one star reviews by clicking on the 1 star box). They nearly all talk about the same problem and I had it too with my first one. It seems that the blades can get jammed/stuck after a few weeks / months (or years if you're lucky !). I'm sure it's not all though, but keep your packaging just in case you need to return !

bought this a year ago. very disappointing battery life and as soon as the battery is not at peak performance, the blade starts to stick in my short beard. Its pretty painful and I definitely would not recommend. A good Duracell lasts 15-20 trims but the blade starts to stick after 5-10 trims and it gets really annoying.

I bought one last year for a tenner which I thought was an excellent price for such a well made product. However I realised pretty quick there's a reason why these are cheap....they're not very good! Unfortunately the hair get stuck within the internal rotary and it becomes awfully slow to the point it becomes unusable. Also you will be going through a lot of batteries as after a few minutes of 'peak' performance, it starts to slow down and doesn't cut as well.
I know a lot of people seem to like these and maybe I have a faulty unit but I would definitely not recommend these especially if you have thick hair...or a lot of it!

I have been using one of these as my razor for about 2 years and it is the best I have ever found, lovely easy close shave and the blades last for ages, best tenner ever spent

If the batteries are performing poorly, open it up and make sure there's no water getting inside.
Eventually it'll start to leak a bit, but once you dry off inside the battery compartment, it works fine again.
Excellent little trimmer and razor, I use mine *everywhere* and its lasted a good year or so with no problems.

Gift set with the shaving foam is £1.00 dearer than the non prime price if you haven't got prime
Had mine for a couple of years and no problem apart from one of the clips that hold the grader on the unit breaking by been a bit rough. Just ordered a new one!
