The Sun newspaper will be doing a promotion from 4/5/16 - 7/5/16 for a free two month family and friends railcard valid 1st June to 31st July followed by £10 an annual Railcard!
you'll need to input an eight digit code found on the back of the newspapers into railcard.co.uk/trialcard2016
this site isnt active yet, so dont try it yet
The T&C say its a £10 discount on the year card, not £10 for the card.

This is in The Sun, so presumably it isn't free and there was never a railway in the first place.

Even this week, The Sun failed to report the inquest verdict that 96 Liverpool football fans who died after a crush at Sheffield's Hillsborough stadium in 1989 were unlawfully killed on its Front Page. That's just criminal.
Even if the memory is beginning to fade, think of their dignity, even if you are willing to compromise your own, for the sake of a voucher. Imagine a football crowd of hundreds all shouting at you not to buy it, that's probably the best way to imagine it.

Totally ignorant comment.
Imagine a member of your family is in a car accident, they were not to blame but the local rag printed that they were, speeding, drunk and on drugs. The Police arrived an 1 hour too late and corroborated the story, so to deflect blame from them. Every time someone walked past your home they shouted scum and murderer, for 27 years. Then the truth comes out and the Rag doesn't apologise adequately or report on the truth. But hey they are offering the a free Mars Bar so everyone else says 'well who cares, they didn't cause the accident and I love a bit of choccy' your o.k. with that because you love a bargain?
People are hurt by lies told by the bad members of press and the only way to stop the lies is to put them out of business and hope that the Journalists who submit these 'pieces' are left jobless and hopefully experiencing at least a small amount of the pain they have caused others. Enjoy your train rides.

Good deal. Seems pretty daft to vote it cold because the paper it's in printed a story 27 years ago that turned out to be untrue, but if people want to cut off their nose to spite their face, it's their business I suppose.

Do you need to be in possession of the railcard before making a train booking? What I'm trying to say is does it ask you for railcard serial number when booking a ticket? I want to book now for a train ticket end of June or July before tickets sell out and hope I get this railcard in time for travel
UncleWilly to shaggy
3 May 161#57
Depends where you book. If you do it in person at a station then yes you need to already have the railcard. If you do it online you don't, just select the appropriate railcard from the drop down box.

Yes, it is a stupid question, but I'll answer it anyway. It's a national railcard so it is valid to just about all destinations and will give you a third off most adult ticket types and 60% off child fares. Full details on the link.
Just a reminder that as this is a Friends and Family Rail Card you will need to be " travelling with at least one child aged 5 to 15 years old". Quote from deal website.
