Unless you have evidence to back up that claim it's highly inaccurate. The fact that you're the only person to have liked that imbecile's (now deleted) Halal comment speaks volumes. The KFC where this discovery was made was not even Halal certified.

I seriously doubt this is a chain specific problem. It's an issue you will encounter in any restaurant/takeout. It's not like KFCs manual says after doing a number two, proceed to ice machine to wash your hands.

multiple times I've seen workers come out of toilets waving their hands about to dry them thenserver customers their food by touching things. These people have no respect to or knowledge of hygiene. I am not the least bit surprised
kaizhu79

Not saying it is right, not even in the slightest, but if you consider the wages you shouldnt be so surprised at all. Besides, many other chains would have the same issues just hasnt been revealed.

27 Apr 161#16
KFC is simply a franchise and if the ones near me are anything to go by they're not too fussy who they franchise to or employ. Many, many years ago when KFC first came to the UK it was really good - a special treat even - but the food is poor these days: greasy, undernourished chicken, etc.
The PC brigade won't like the halal comment but it's not inaccurate - it's simply cultural reality in some places.

What?
You're comparing nurses to folk working in Maccy D's/KFC/etc?!?!?
I'd like to think nursing is more of an actual career choice and people doing it actually give two hoots about what they're doing. And, as a result of that and their place of employment, they might be a little more careful with their personal hygiene.
Obviously, never going to be 100% the case. But I'd certainly like to think/believe so!
Cleaners or something in hospitals maybe. As they tend to be unskilled and transient. But nurses? I hope not!

I think you entirely missed the point.
Cyrus was responding to the comment that related poor hygiene to low pay. Cyrus then said if that were true, nurses would be walking infection carriers and was clearly using a reductio ad absurdum argument to say that there is no serious link between poor hygiene and low pay.

27 Apr 161#46
Cannot see my logic being miles off. Although I do not know how much nurses get paid but I tend to think iy has to be much more than KFC rates. Besides, nursing is entirely different line of work, could be life or death. KFC on the other hand, you are unlikely to kill someone by not serving with washed hands.
Not sure how others were but during my days at McDonalds, I did not wash my hands between changing bin bags and wiping the trays. Doubt I am the only "dirty" one worked in fast food. Well, I am guilty anyways. :disappointed:

I've been there quite a few times (not been anytime in the last year or two though) and it's probably got one of the crampest kitchen areas I've seen in a KFC. Given how far fecal matter can spread just in your own house via the air, I'm not the least bit surprised they're finding machines and supplies in close proximity are contaminated.

You guys are taking it too literally. Of course pay rate does not determine if one would wash hands after using the toilet. I was simply trying to say if you get less money, you would be less likely to give a **** about doing it the right way. Not 100% of the time but more often than not. I personally would care more about a better paid job.

Getting back to the deal! Did anyone try this, I did yesterday after the girl who served me faffed for a while I eventually got my zinger meal, after I had finished my meal I was checking my mobile and the kfc app was still open next a pop screen in a purple colour background said "congratulations you have won a free side, to claim show to staff" I showed to staff she said it's for use next time I order, but I asked her to read it again she said the same, it will be added to your stamp collected, I stupidly agreed, clicked on the app it then said "enjoy your Free side" when I checked my stamps it didn't add anything! Just thought I'd point this out!
