The 750w deal has gone up in price, but this seems like decent value for powering 1 card and an overclocked cpu

good psu from a good company. Much better than taking your chances with the russian roulette of Corsairs's aftersales

Your PSU was the loudest thing in your PC? Impressive :stuck_out_tongue:

It depends what you mean by a better deal. It's cheaper yes. But it's not an equal PSU by any means. There's more to it than rated wattage. Each their own though.
That's the GQ which you can get for even less than that elsewhere. Still cold though due to Amazon's also awaiting stock price, thanks Danze1984.

"for powering one card and an overclocked cpu"
I do that with a 430W.

This is a highish end PSU so you'd probably be looking at running it with highish end kit eg i5 6600k and r9 390. Given you should be aiming for somewhere around 60% power when running at full load, 650w is bang on the money.

How is this a deal? I paid 74.99 for this from Amazon, which was the standard price.

I have the 750w, it runs totally silent under load for me. It is very big, I could barely fit it in my case.

Does the fan stay off until needed? I have an SFX variant and this is how it works, but I must say its a little annoying hearing it spin up every few seconds...

I recommend it also, but I got it for £53 4 months ago off flubit.
i have the 850w version, and yes, it's as good as it's made out to be. only drawback is somewhat stiff cables, though really not that big a deal.

Just got one of these, superb quality. Fully modular cables for a nice clean build. And it runs silent until pushed. Expensive but worth it.

A few £ more, once you factor in shipping, at BT/Dabs who seem to have it in stock. Novatech have a free delivery option, though, so have more some heat.
