If you want an inexpensive phone for voice/text only, you'd be better off with a Nokia from Carphone Warehouse. Very long battery life, and like all CPW handsets, they're not locked.

I bought one for my father and tried it out for a few days unlocked (ebay code on life mobile mini Sim onlydeal for £5). I liked so much I got one myself.

Pros:
Calls, emails, text and Whats app work absolutely fine. I did install an alternative keyboard but this is personal preference.

Cons. Screen is not the best. Fine for you but sharing stuff on your screen is difficult as the viewing angles are bad. Camera front and back are bad. Front is fine for sykpe call etc and you can take a picture OK but don't expect much.

All round good mobile with the latest version of lollipop, Andriod version, that can deal with OK google voice searches, load all the latest apps, Sat Nav & capable of using latest 4G networks.

Which Nokia? Just saying "a nokia" doesn't help at all.

If I have an EE contract that just come to an end with a kestrel phone which plays up. does anything stop me buying this taking my contract sim out and using this phone ?
