When you use words like 'might' and 'perhaps' it usually negates or diffuses any presumption built into a statement. The author you are defending made a presumption that anything written in caps is shouting regardless of any errors even the one in their response.
For example:
Rickardo only comments so he can be liked.
Rickardo might be commenting for other reasons, perhaps?
