Many people overspend on buying top spec phones, and then don't even use half the features or power of the phone. its a total waste of money.
I don't know this phone, and for the price AND spec I think its a good deal, although there are many Chinese phones for the same price roughly.

Got the x5 Pro a while back on a previous gearbest deal here on HUKD and no issues with it other than slow initial delivery which seems to be a common GearBest problem. Wifi - fine, 4G signal rock stable for me, general responsiveness - all good, camera generally acceptable but poor results in poor light. I realise this is a different phone, but it's definitely 'Doogee' rather than 'dodgy' and for the price I think its great.
Moderate your expectations - but not as far as you might think - and you'll be pleased with this too.

Is there any way to be sure where you have to return your phone to with Gearbest? I've read quite a few comments of people who've bought from their EU warehouse and have been told that they have to return it to China at their own cost for warranty issues....
I searched on eBay and ordered a snow leopard case for 2.99 delivered April.

If you come across any decent cases please let me know. I'll not have time until weekend and if I find any that look OK I'll message you. I've had a dispatch email already which is better than my X5 Pro purchase experience from GearBest earlier this year

Wasn't aware I was getting touchy, I asked for the relevance of one phone vs another, he explained that they were both the same phone in different coats and I accepted that.

Unless it's a backup, no. However value for money still needs to come into play - for example, the Amazon Lightning deal at £51 for the X5 Pro earlier today delivers x2 storage, x2 RAM, and Amazon CS for £11-£12 more.
Honestly I'm not knocking this phone at all, like I said I have the Doogee Y100X. I just feel £39 is 'about right' for this phone, rather than it being a deal.

I bought one of these for a similar price in January (took about 6 weeks to arrive) and haven't been overly impressed. There are a couple of dead spots on the screen that make it frustrating to use. As it's from Gearbest it's not worth the while to return. I've just replaced it with a Wileyfox Swift for £100 and it's much better value for money.

I have one of these as a spare/ holiday phone. It's a quite capable wee phone. I put nova launcher on it as the Doogee ui and icons are horrible. I quite like it. 1gb of ram works OK with this handset. I haven't had lagging or random reboots. Everything works as it should. Nice bright screen. It's a bit chunky but it feels solid and well made. Great phone at this price. Don't think you'd get better for the money tbh

Been an iPhone user for c7 years but picked one of these up from Gearbest (yes, that offer!) earlier this year. I wanted to tinker around and familiar myself with Android OS as my 3 daughters all have Android phones and tablets and I wanted to stay one step ahead of them tech wise.
Have to say for the money its great, I find myself using it more than the iPhone, probably because of the novelty factor. Only negative aspect is the camera which is pretty bad (but not useless). Doesn't bother me as I still use a 'camera' for taking pictures that I want to keep, put in an album, frame etc.
I'm still a relative novice when it comes to Android, one thing I would say having done a little reading up (and loading an app called Root Checker) is that my X5 Pro isn't rooted, if this is the same then it may be of concern to some. I've ran security checks and it all seems fine, no issues with any of the apps I've put on it. But it could be a limiting factor depending on your views re having full control of your phones OS. I'm still a little hesitant in flashing it having no prior experience but as I said, I've not encountered any problems and its not an issue for me at the moment.

It's fair to say it's 10% of the price of Apple, Samsung, HTC - but it is also 10% of the performance. Roughly the same spec as the Doogee Y100X that I bought on here @ £32 last year.
I would say this is about the right price for the spec.

Have the pro, top phone with great specs for the price. Got mine on a deal from Gearbest, but waited ages for delivery as went OOS over Chinese new year, but happy with end goods. Dual SIM was main reason I got this (work / personal sims) although only one runs at 4g (which would be a problem with 2 X "three" sims)

It is a great little phone but the letdown I found (and it's a big one) - very spotty WiFi, ok if you're close to the router/AP but drops off fast away from it, seems to plague the Chinese phones and, of course, trying to explain 'weak WiFi signal' to off-shore support is never going to end well.
