I would be tempted to hold off on buying this. I know people who didn't realise they were buying a real simulator rather than a racing game. Expect many on the 2nd hand market soon.

The developers have always made sim games, if ppl do sell on or trade I can't see it going under £30 even second hand... Not yet anyway.

Good comment, I got this on day one and it is really hard, I've already seen copies in CEX and sure more used will appear, it's definitely no Forza

They sound have done a little research before buying it then. A couple of seconds worth of a Google search would let you know what type of game it is.
One line review = Dirt Rally is superb and if you enjoy a console driving challenge you should get it now!

I've been playing nothing but this for the past week and slowly but surely starting to get to grips with the RS200. Start slow and concentrate on getting around a stage in one piece then work on improving time.
I'm looking at G29 and T300RS wheels now though, which will inevitibly end up with a racing seat and divorce. I'll just bung it in the son's room .

I ordered this Friday Lunch time, it arrived 24 hours later. It is hard as hell, I was kind of expecting to be like the old Dirt 1 and 2 games. Despite it not being like those and it being a sim, I'm very impressed with it and really enjoying it. I'm not very good and I only own that Mini that comes with the code. Looking forward to getting more stuck into this.

Just as an aside from the childishness, I've just looked on YT and this game looks amazing!!!! Can anyone who has this confirm that the handling is "realistic", its hard to tell from video but it looked a little bit like it may be 'on rails' which can ruin the fun of sliding etc.

I picked this up for PC for £12 last week from Simplygames following a deal on here. I can confirm its as good as people say and use my XB1 controller in the absence of a wheel. I've been sliding no problem on the appropriate surfaces. It is hard as nails but that is the real plus for me as its addictive and has you concentrating that bit harder. Highly recommended. I too own PS4/XB1 and this is a decent price for console at present. Have some heat.

Got it delivered yesterday as bought it from ebay for £30 delivered (no codes :-()and I'll say the cars don't feel like they handle on rails they actually feel pretty realistic. It feels a little like forza on dirt but much more unforgiving

You are clearly a child hence your inability to control your bladder.. and anger. However, let me TRY to educate you.
1. I'm not a "fanboy", firstly I'm a bit too long in the tooth, secondly, I will not sell my soul to a piece of plastic with a circuit board inside. When my mates get PS4's or there are games I feel warrant the purchase, I'll get one, so chiiiiill!
2. Games can be cheaper instore as well, this is not just an online phenomenon as you suggest
3. Every retailer maintains things to sell in "large amounts" its called "Stock" do you think that physical stores pop over to Microsoft every time they get a customer? You clearly don't understand retail
4. No company can sell their stock for "what they want" because they have to factor in the initial cost, to make it easier for you, if you buy 20 Mars bars for 50p each and then sell them at playtime for 30p each, you will make a "loss", this is what the big misters have to consider in retail, that way, they can pay Mr Council his business rates and Mr Energy for his electricity
One day, you may realise that there is more to life than PS4, maybe when PS4.5 comes out, but until then, relax, its just a games console

Give the man a prize!! You clearly know more about the levels of stock being shifted, and of course every shop buys millions of copies and leaves them in a "warehouse" because putting them on a shelf to be bought would be silly, they'd just get sold! If only there were millions of Xbox users in this country who still buy these games...... oh wait.....

I don't believe that I said that you were a Fanboy and you haven't come across as such  You asked a question and I answered it for you
I'm not against Sony at all, if my mates had gone PS4, I would have bought one too, that was the deciding factor for me  and the thing that most people forget when they deride a console is that we NEED competition to control prices and drive progress! They, as you rightly said, are all as bad as each other, this is highlighted by the extortionate costs of digital downloads which although cutting out the retailer and manufacture costs still seem stupidly high, so yes, MS, Sony, ninty and the rest are as bad as each other.... but they are businesses!!

You are clearly a Xbox fanboy.
Sony are no different to Microsoft and Xbox games are sometimes cheaper online simply because they don't sell as much.
But yes evil Sony rise fees lol
You do know online retailers have the game in large amounts already paid for so sell for what they want?

Are you joking?
If a game or anything isn't selling and sat in a warehouse gathering dust and losing value a company will lower the price to shift a few more copies.
If it's selling well already (like I presume the ps4 version) they will keep it at the current price it is.
sigh

i own both consoles so i'm no sony fanboy. most games are the same price on both consoles and at times just like this deal i have seen a game thats more expensive on the xbox one so what about Microsoft is it the same with them, because your posts all sound very anti sony as just focus on sony with no mention of Microsoft or nintendo. Lets be honest they are all as bad as each other and next week the ps4 version could be cheaper than the xbox one

Of course Sony have a say, they can increase/reduce their licencing fees to publishers (e.g. its not uncommon for them to have a 20% cut). Surely you don't think that they plough millions into R&D just to see publishers making millions off of their efforts?
You're right that retailers do set prices to a degree but as they take the brunt of the losses if a game doesn't sell, they need it. However, if the wholesale price is higher for them, their profit wriggle room is less manageable. We all know that the PS4 has sold more (you PS4 owners remind us enough!!) but, that has NOTHING to do with setting of prices. Again, look at Ferrari, they sell a fraction of the cars Ford do yet their prices are 12x more, your argument holds no water.
Without wanting to teach you to suck eggs, sales is 100% profit focussed, end of. Why do PS4 games cost more? Perhaps its because (and this is not meant to start a flaming war) many PS4 owners seem to have sheep like tendencies, similar to Applefans. Apple could put their badge on a turd and Applefans would queue all night just to be the first to buy it, same with Starbucks, its coffee FFS, but, (wannabee) hipsters just want to be seen with the cup and will pay £5 for the privilege despite most having absolutely no concept of what a "good" coffee tastes like. Similarly, if PS4 owners keep paying stupid prices, retailers will keep charging stupid prices, its not that hard a concept to follow

Sony have no say on the game price unless it's one of there exclusive even then it's up to the retailer it's more to do with more ps4s being sold and having a larger market share so if your a business why not have that version a little more expensive as you are going to sell my copies of that version

That makes no sense, Ferrari sell less cars than Ford but they are certainly not cheaper  Plus, the game is unlikely to make people buy an Xbox so if you were correct, they would surely increase the price on XB to recover more from the smaller market?
Its probably more to do with Sony being greedy with the licencing if anything

You will always see copies of new games in cex, has no bearing on the price dropping for most games. You can usually go into your local cex and you will nearly always see a game that's been released that week.
