Has probably been posted before but thought I'd post just incase.
I've tried to leave cineworld twice and have been offered a free month both times, just said money was tight and they offered a free month both times.

twice a month though - there isnt usually enough to warrant two trips in a month, every month.....
besides if you can go in the day time in the week then its more like four trips?

Is it me or does the price of this card go up every year?
I don't personally have one but I remember seeing it some time (not sure how many years) ago at £13 something, then £15 something and now its £16.90?

Still super cheap. You only need to go more than twice and you've made your money back.

It really seems that way on the face of it but I've been going to see movies I'm just curious about. It doesn't cost much for the petrol to take turns driving with a friend and they allow you to bring in your own cold food and drinks (no alcohol though). Also if you have 2 meerkat movies codes it means you can take a friend with you for free on Tuesday + Wednesday.
I manage to get maybe 5/6 movies in a month, maybe even more when they have unlimited screenings.

I've had it for over 2 years now and its one of the best things I have bought. I love films though and I even see some things that id never bother to see if I hadn't of had this e.g. The woman in gold, big fat greek wedding 2. Not really my cup of tea spending £11 a ticket for them but well worth going on this and I really enjoyed them. I got to see Black Mass 2 months before it was released in the UK and each month there are usually unlimited screenings where they give you free medium coke, or big bag of M&Ms and its mostly a secret screening. latest one was zootropolis 2 weeks before it was released. I also get 25% off food and that is also for any friends. 25% off pizza hut and other restaurants also. I understand that its expensive but considering what you get and that you do get treated well to me is worth it. I got special tickets to the 12pm Star Wars in IMAX also which was great fun.

And when take into account all the other deals floating about like Meerkat Movies. You must really love the cinema to go every week. Personally just don't have time for that, but as a deal getting a free month can't ever be a bad thing

I think you can combine meerkat with this, so anyone with an unlimited card and meerkat can bring someone with them for free.

These are way over priced, I go to my local odeon and it only costs £4 a movie

They're not overpriced if want to go to the cinema and your only local cinema is a Cineworld. We might be lucky with ours, but I can't remember going to a movie where the cinema was more than half full.
Me and the other half have the monthly passes and get plenty of use out of them. Will give this a go when the initial twelve months is up shortly.

I actually am leaving Cineworld, they keep ruining the screenings with wrong aspect ratios or blurry picture. It has got to the point where I get more enjoyment at home. Not even mentioning the chair kicking, people talking, drunks and when cineworld want to save on heating so it is colder in doors than outside. Complained so many times but I love my movies and they just keep getting ruined.

I never thought I would use it as much as I did but it's just nice to know you can walk at any showing and see what you like. I watched the new Star Wars 4 times!

Each to their own, but imo always at least 2 decent films on each month, and like someone else has said, if you have spare time at any time then very easy to just drop in and watch whatever. Probably use mine about 4-5 times a month so saves a fortune, and have combined with meerkat movies too for extra tickets so even better. Will try this when 12 months up on mine. Cheers OP

When I had a card I went 3 times a week. Now I don't go at all. You'd go if u paid the monthly premium more than you would have otherwise gone. I didn't like the time wasted travelling to and advert

Just turn up 25 minutes after the shown start time. That's what I do now, see 1 trailer usually.
Got this card last month. Take my son each week free with the meerkat movies code so pretty decent value as the monthly cost is about what it would cost the 2 of us to go once otherwise.

When we were young and child free we went four times a week as we lived quite close, we pretty much saw every film released. Now I hardly go at all, cancelled it years ago. I reckon you have to go four times a month to make it worthwhile, I know technically you'd save after the second visit, but who pays full price for the pictures?

Why would you have this card in the first place if you don't intend or like films enough to go twice a month.

Cineworld are scammers of the highest order. Their pricing model is absolutely ludicrous, because they charge extra for non-2D showings, so you're paying close to £20 month, plus the additional for non-2D screens which lets face it most people will do for the blockbusters.
I cancelled a while back, they made no attempt to dissuade me. My missus, who had been with them for a long, long time (probably from when they started doing it), called to cancel and again they made zero effort to talk her around.
So now we watch a few films a year, on IMAX, and it costs us around £100. Compared to the near £480 + IMAX fees on top via 'Unlimited'.

But after 12 months 3d is not extra, yes it does annoy that I have to pay extra for imax, and at my local cineworld we have a screening room which is also extra, but you don't have to use them.

I go on average of 5 to 6 times a month so is a great deal for me, also have meerkat movies too so can get someone in free on Tues or weds, also get early screenings , secret screening, love films so if u go more than twice a month works out well.

The Cinema is a bargin - Rated cold - the industry is already dying and we should be suppoting them. Keeps people employed - nice night out (I have had many cinema dates in my younger days-great experience) plus where would our kids go when they go on date? This isnt a bargin or a deal - this just giving idea to people to abuse the system! Some people may genuinely have money issues and a nice guesture like that may help - but I say if you cant afford it, you cant afford it!

I used to do this, until they decided out of the blue to only show 15 minutes of trailers and I ended up missing about 15 minutes of the film.

Why do people moan all the time? If you won't use it a few times a month don't get it. I personally couldn't do it as I spend way too much on the food and drinks. I could take stuff in with me but I like a hot dog and a ice cream.

I was tempted as i've been going a lot more often recently but I probably wouldnt go twice a month for 12 months, theres just not enough good films coming out. If the additional benefits were worthwhile id definitely do it but they're not. 10% off food/drink in the cinema is rubbish.
