This is my first time posting so please be kind. I saw this deal on currys and wondered if this was a good deal and wanted to share my findings.
This is for the canon 700d and comes with the body, a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lense, a 32gb sd memory card and camera bag

9 quid extra for a branded bag and card is a good deal so.. heat added
Amazon usually price match marketplace sellers if you ring them up...

They also do the returns and customer service. So basically nothing like ebay and gumtree as you stated.

so like paypal and ebay, but id prefer to deal with a retailer directly and know what the stock is without amazon intervention
gumtree you can inspect before buying and send the boys round if any problems :man:

Can people tell why photographers still opt for that massive piece of mirror in the body?
This camera has the same sensor size as Sony A6300 mirrorless.
Why do people care about that mirror so much?
It's massive and reduces the amount of light that reaches the sensor.

the mirror flips up when the shot is taken, to have mirrorless you need a digital viewfinder, so i guess its personal preference, but i enjoy the real viewfinder personally.

Are you referring to the mirror that moves out of the way when you take the photo?

fulfilled by amazon. - only guarantee is that you get it or you get money back.
The sensor in this 3 yr old model doesn't rate as good as the very first Sony nex - 2011 - never mind the current models.

It's an OK deal as you're paying not that much for the bag and card. Otherwise, it's pretty standard pricing. I wouldn't call it 'hot' personally. You can check out the Camerapricebuster website for best prices UK wide. You can also compare with mpb website for used examples and add in a 50mm 1.8 lens and still save. This is a competent set tho and hard to go wrong if it's what you want.

A lot of folk won't have the best part of £2k to throw at a camera, and whilst I agree with you in principle, if we deter beginners from trying out photography because of the expensive entry price, I'd say the hobby is doomed.
The 700d is a strong body with lots of features, and as we all know, it really comes down to the glass we're shooting with.

But compare the 5 or 6D with the Nikon D750 and which is the banana, compare the d750 with the 810 and .... pretty much all cameras these days are better than the thing behind it,imho

Whatever you have to tell yourself to make you feel correct I guess.
