It's not an offer on the app, it's just a standard in store offer available to anyone

Gutted they stopped doing the chicken big king :disappointed:

I got both of them yesterday.
Looking at the pic, I think they gave me the wrong Texas long, as it didn't include any onion rings and it was chicken, rather than beef...
Prior to ordering these burgers, I tried to take advantage of the BOGOF voucher on the double cheeseburger and the price increases from £1.29 to £4.09!!!
I was actually quite disappointed with that, especially considering the standard cheese burger is 99p and even the staff said it was ridiculous

Nooooooo! Didn't know they'd stopped that, it was a great burger, somewhat bigger than the beef version. Hope they see sense and bring it back. :disappointed:

I had one of these Big King burgers yesterday and it was a bit of a con. The beef patties (if they are really beef) are about half the size of the previous Big king burger . So technically you save 50p from the previous offer, but lose 50% of the meat.

I find Bk deals are usually a bit of a con too. As said, they reduce the size or up the price to make it look a better deal. It also annoys me that both Bk and KFC near me don't advertise the deals. They will honour the deal price if asked but try to get you to buy something else by not putting up the deal posters.

There is no difference to the size. The big King has been the same size since it was launched.

Yeah, I've also noticed that deals often aren't advertised in the branches. I recently went to one and spotted an offer on a BK poster at a bus stop outside the restaurant. No trace of the offer inside, although they honoured it when I asked about it. I suspect this is due to the branches often being franchises, who don't want to lose profit on offers if they don't have to. I'm guessing that's also true of KFC, who don't seem to promote their Take 5 deal in-store.
Or maybe someone here who works for them can gave a better explanation?

Different franchisees may explain it sometimes. However, bus stops etc sometimes have "overshow" meaning that the advertising space has not been sold to another company so the old offer stays up past its end date.

In the picture they look massive but how big are they in real life? Say is the Big King the same same size as a Big Mac and is the Long BBQ one the same as a Chicken Royale?
And anyone know if this is available at motorway service station branches? or is that a total no?

Yes, those sizes are around right.

Can we stop heating this junk? It's a cheap, mangy burger, and the price reflects that. Don't be suckered in just because it has a BBQ sauce on it and they changed the name.

I can confirm that this is a fab deal! I tried both (yes both) yesterday. The Big King is amazingly large (admittedly we had ours on Burger buns because the BK was awaiting a Big King bun delivery) but they had trouble getting the paper wrap to stay around the bun because it was so big. The Texas BBQ was disappointing after the Big King, the two patties and two onion rings seemed a bit lost in the bun. Still think for £1.49 it's a great deal, makes MD's burgers pale into insignificance.

The staff at the Burger King in Chatham (the one upstairs in the Dockside Outlet centre) always pretend these Big King burgers and similar deals don't exist. They're not advertised in the branch either. I'm sure it's a deliberate ploy because they only want to sell the £5.79 meals.
I had a clerk and a manager look me in the eye and say they'd never heard of a Big King burger, until I showed it to them on the BK website on my phone, at which point they magically found the button for it on the till and the kitchen staff magically knew how to make it.

Swindon BK told me earlier today that the Big King burger is now £1.99.
I hate that they don't have a full menu at the drive through or any details of offers there or in store...

Should have had your phone with you, it still says £1.49 on their site.
