You don't have to be a member to shop at costco online, but there is a 5% surcharge if you are not. That would make 1 litre of syrup £11.65 delivered which is still considerably better value than £3.98 for 250g.
And you wouldn't have to leave the house!

You're right I was looking ONLINE.
I could not spend enough to make becoming a member worthwhile.
Chingford is the nearest to me but thats 5 miles away and as I don't drive carrying loads of bags from an out of the way place off the North Circular Road and then changing buses 3 times is not my idea of fun.
I was also surprised to see there opening time was 10.00am NOT exactly what shop owners would be looking for IMO but they are open until 8.30pm

Honestly, I am also struggling to find honey and maple syrup being a substitute for each other. They are both sweet but they taste completely different. If you are going to add maple syrup to something just to sweeten it but where the taste will be dominated by the "something", this is probably non-economical. You might as well just add cheap white cane sugar. (or artificial sweeteners like saccharine or aspartame which are 10-100 times cheaper than sugar) The beauty of the maple syrup is in its flavour, not just its sweetness.
The obvious example is with pancakes. For me, nothing come close with pancakes or waffles. But I sometimes use it with savoury meals like a glazing for pork where it add subtle flavour and not just sweetness.

I assume you're looking online. Its less in store. Just under £9 last time I was in.
The £10.99 online actually includes delivery so is a pretty good deal considering.
To be fair I didn't claim they stock this brand - like the other poster who mentioned prices for 100% maple syrup available on the high street, I was just explaining its available at this price (a bit cheaper in fact) elsewhere. Sorry if you misunderstood.

I find fudge very runny compared to pebbles. But pebbles and fudge aren't substitutes for one another are they

I find this is very runny, almost water like compared to honey.
I go through it pretty quickly and don't really feel it's value for money whatever the price it's on sale for.
I think using it in certain ways I.e. with plain yogurt where you can really taste it but a big no-no in porridge as you have to use a lot to taste it.
