This deal is only available on the Pearl version which I already have, it's more of a silver. Going to get another one for my Son.
Just got off the phone with home av direct. This is the EU version so comes with an EU plug in the box, however they did say that they send Bose UK plugs for FREE with every order so the price is actually pretty good considering the cheapest I've seen the UK version online is £139.90. £7 off and a spare plug for when we go on holiday :)

That's not too bad! Especially if they send you the plug. OP have you ever bought from home av before? Looking at reviews online it all looks good but just wanna make sure.

the EU version comes with a UK plug straight from Bose, I bought mine from Amazon Germany and it had adapter plugs for every country.
this is without doubt the most amazing sound from such a small box. I have the Sony srsx3 on the boat and its not quite as good as the Bose even though it's much bigger.

The sound from these things isn't that good, I returned mine to Argos. Got 2 UE megabooms now and I'm happy with them.

So I'm going to have 2 UK plugs  that works for me Haha.
The sound is truly amazing for its size. I've had mine for about a year I think and still haven't found a worthy replacement.

Tried both this and the Sony x55. For about the same money the Sony sounds much more mature with deeper and fuller sound. Only problem is that the Sony is a little bigger.

Wouldn't recommend these at all, especially considering price. They sound good if, and only if you are facing dead centre to the speaker. If you deviate at all from the tiny cone of sound then the quality drops off to a muffled mess. Far, far too directional to be useful.
I replaced mine with a Denon Envaya mini, and I've also heard a UE boom - both easily outperform the Bose and are cheaper.
That said, if you do insist on one of these Bose speakers then this is a good price for it relative to other retailers - and that's the idea of this site, right?

Unfortunately, the bass sounds podgy, to the extent that it can smear the other instruments. Too much weight in the bottom end was one of our criticisms of the original model, but the trait is exacerbated in its smaller sibling (hence our eating habits-related introduction).
It removes the venom from The Bronx’s Heart Attack American, and only takes things further the louder you play – which, let's face it, for tracks such as this is usually all the way up. In doing so, it loses the detail and texture that makes the guitar and scream so brutal.
The denons are ok but the quality is questionable. I went through 2 of them that went faulty with the same fault (battery issues) before home av ended up giving me an exchange to my 1st bose Soundlink Mini and I haven't been happier.
The bose has a very balanced sound which is perfect for me as I have a very broad taste in music.

These sound amazing, had mine for over a year, brought 2 for other family members.
If you don't think they sound amazing, then try reading the instructions about placement in the room.
I spent ages listening to the same track via all the bluetooth speakers in an airport Dixons. To my ears, this Bose was by quite a long way the best, for accurate balanced sound. Everybody's ears are different at hearing different sounds though I guess! Plus of course music preferences vary.

bummer. I payed £139.79 from Amazon EU SARL.
Why is it there is always a cheaper offer after i buy, but never such a good deal again, if i dont :disappointed: .

Got any more info on that? Does it require joining a Beta programme? There don't seem to be any controller updates available, and when I sign in to the Sonos "my account" it says "there are currently no private beta programs available"

The play 1 is really good but it doesn't have a battery so isn't really the best alternative to a portable Bluetooth speaker
For sound quality it's the Denon, for the most bass its the JBL, the only Pro for the Bose is it looks premium and the dock makes it really convenient.
edit: As another point of interest, the Bose does not feature apt-X, so you've got limited sound quality available to start with, before the quality of the speaker itself even comes into play.
Not a great speaker had one sent back got bass but there more to music than that got myself a JBL Charge+2 a good all round sound and picked it up at John Lewis for £75 in the sale

OK thanks for the extra info - i will have to take a comparative listen to the denon.

Because as of yesterday 19.00hrs Amazon Prime Music is now integrated with SONOS
The Play 1's are fantastic, APM is improving daily.

Check out this video and make your own judgement. This puts the Bose in ideal conditions (fron, dead centre) and it still sounds boomy and artificial.
