Ordered on Monday and subsequently had order cancelled today. Euro Car Parts advised product was now 'discontinued'. Shame as a good price. Now upwards of £80 on Amazon.

OK but not the grunt of the Hitachi deal. I got mine for £72 with 2 batteries. used for building a deck and fine but not as good for masonry. chuck is fine and hammer, driver, drill selection good. light use and DIY.

Thanks for that tip fellas - I didn't realise green Bosch was tat and blue was good. (Both my tat Bosch tools are green and bought in recent years). It's a bit confusing cos in the old days when Bosch was a by word for quality, the whole range was green and the tools were excellent. But even knowing this they won't be getting any more of my money even on the blue range..

Aye, was trying to respond to jlflanagan about whether he should spend more.

It's a blue Bosch, different kettle of fish and much better quality.

Hitachi, green Bosch is potentially troublesome, I certainly won't be buying any more.

I used to think the Bosch brand more or less guaranteed a decent product but I've since learned the hard way based on a couple of rotten lawnmowers. Bosch WILL put their name on tat in order to give the DIY sheds a lower price point! I can't say the same is true for power tools but I'd be much more wary in future.
On the other hand the cheap tools from Lidl (and Aldi) are remarkably good and they back them up with 3 year warranties.
I'm not suggesting you should never buy Bosch (some of their stuff is still very good) but don't assume the name is a form of guarantee - it isn't!

It sounds like a good deal but as with all bargains - especially a Bosch - cross your fingers as you spend your money. I own this drill or one almost identical and the batteries became almost useless within months of my purchase. I've tried fully discharging and charging and one or two other tricks to no avail. The mains powered Bosch jigsaw I also own isn't too fabulous either so I'm avoiding this brand. But the 100 quid Makita battery drill I bought at the same time is utterly marvellous - spend a little more and be sure you get good quality....wish I took my own advice a bit more often!

Looking for a drill, will this be good for general diy? Don't fancy having to charge it all the time or should I spend abit more

I would spend a little more. I have a BOSCH GSB 18V-LI 18V with a 4ah battery and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
It comes in a hard case which is plenty big enough for drill bits etc, has a large 4ah battery (the one in this thread is only 1.5ah, so will need a lot of charging), great hammer function, is compact, easy to use, etc.
I've used it a lot in entirely renovating my house, and it's still going very strong 2 years later.
