I bought a similar one a while back impulsively. Great bit of kit. Ideal if you want more control over your media players. And it's portable too.

Good price, heat added. I was tempted but I doubt it would run kodi much better than my fire tv stick. Bargain for anyone wanting to try kodi though!

I agree. Cheap & nasty Android boxes have become KODI boxes.
And when buyers realise it after using...they curse KODI & not the crap they bought!!!

Got one of these from Gearbest a few months ago, and was DOA. Trying to get that sorted with them took a few weeks, and all I got was credit on my account for the value. Searching Google at the time, to try and see if I could fix myself, and it seems these boxes are riddled with issues.
A couple of quid extra, and has a UK plug. Set it up last week when it arrived and it's a lot faster that my Fire Stick when using Kodi, especially for PLP.

I have an android box that uses same Allwinner H3 SoC as found in the Beelink X2. Compared to Fire TV stick, my H3 based box does seem a bit more responsive when navigating KODI menus etc. The H3 is a quad core 1.2 GHz vs dual core 1.0 GHz of the Fire TV stick.
Earlier versions of KODI do not output 1080 correctly on the H3 - the video is downscaled by KODI to 720p. Fortunately, it looks like this has been fixed starting with KODI Jarvis 16.
If you specifically need to use the USB sockets, then the X2 is probably fine as a budget box.
fwiw, I find the catchup TV apps from BBC, ITV, 5 and Channel 4 work very well with the bluetooth remote supplied with the Fire TV stick. The same apps from Google Play just don't work so well with the standard cheap android remote supplied with android TV boxes.

With lots of messing around.
If going for one of these (And want to keep Android) then best ot go for the new Rockchip based ones.
If you want openelec with some effort go for Amlogic.
Or simplicity go for raspberry pi.

They also don't realise these channels are closed/stop working/re-appear as another name all the time and blame the box/kodi software because they have no idea what they are buying!

My experience, kodi on a fire device is sh!!!te, you want to run 'native' and with a box that supports CEC ie recognizes your TV remote!
MXQ red stripe with kszaqs libreelec is awesome for a £20 box....

Because they are buying with it pre-installed, they won't have the foggiest what to do when a channel goes down or is taken off.
The best way is to do a clean install of Kodi yourself & install the add-ons of your choice and not of some 11 year old kid in the Far East :stuck_out_tongue:
At least you control what you install & watch & know what to do when things go wrong!

When mine goes wrong (loose term that could mean anything  ) I just remove Kodi & reinstall, re-add 'Fusion' & install my add-ons from there. Granted I only have a handful of add-ons so not a big task

Comparing a £100 box to an £18 box
See the deal I posted for the minimx3
Why anyone would pay £100 for an android box is beyond me
I know to many people who have bought preloaded and it's messed up and they blame the box/stick. It's a shame people don't try to educate themselves about how it works before saying kodi socks etc etx
