It's a newer iteration of the CPU. This is Intel Atom x5-Z8500 and the one you point to is Intel Atom Z3735F Quad Core (1.33GHz, 2MB Cache, Intel Burst to 1.83GHz). There may be a upgrade to the onboard graphics as this is Intel HD Gen 8 (whatever that means!)
Just ignore that other guy. He's just a hapless minion, fighting pointless internet battles on the misguided notion that to spell correctly means something.

Recovery partitions are a bit of a relic of the W8.1 era. Windows 10 doesn't have a recovery partition. You can however create a USB recovery drive from the W10 installation.
Basically, ignore what you used to do with 8.1.
(I can happily work with a 32GB drive. In fact, with a micro SD installed, I'm not sure what I'd install to actually fill the spare space on the C drive!)

On the techtablet forums there are allot of units which are dying after a short period of time. That coupled with the non existent warranty allot of these Chinese tablets have I think I will give it a miss and stick with a known brand.
Just a shame that most of these tablets are 2gb only as the extra ram would be nice. I might just look at a Lenovo or similar netbooks instead.

Thanks for your reply. Did you manually remove the recovery partition to be able to upgrade on your TA? I read that some have had issues going from 8.1 to 10 on a 32GB drive, running out of space. Also, the T100HA comes with w10 out the box, no doubt with recovery partition etc as standard. Would be interesting to hear from someone who has the 3GB model of the T100HA, and what kind of capacity they have after a few months.
Personally though, removing the recovery partition isn't something I'd recommend for a general user, free up a little space now but make it more difficult for themselves later if they had to manually reinstall Windows. "But it's easy to install Windows?!", for us perhaps, but could you say the same for your friends, parents etc?

These 2in1 tablets are similar to the netbooks of the late '00s, but performance is a lot better. Netbooks would struggle with Youtube streaming etc, but my T100chi (similar spec, but with 1920x1200 screen) will happily stream 1080p youtube, or 720p60 (1080p60 seems a struggle for it). And in general the eMMC storage just makes it more responsive, not as fast as an SSD but quicker than mechanical HDD.
Late last year my choice was between the new T100HA or the slightly older T100chi. I ended up with the chi as it was a little cheaper at the time (£250, comparing two 64GB models), had the higher res screen and arguably better build.
But the biggest hurdle with this model of the HA is the 32GB storage, that could be an issue in the future as w10 inevitably balloons with updates. My 64GB chi, on w8.1, after about 4 months use has used 14.6GB (windows folder 10.3GB). A 32GB eMMC would be about 29.8GB actual space, and then Asus will have a hidden recovery partition (mine is 10GB). So in just a few months you might have just 5GB free space. I have all my videos, music etc on a 128GB microSD, something that would be crucial for a device like this, which has even less storage.

I agree with most of what you say....however, the Windows 10 installation size is much smaller than W8.1, AND it doesn't use a recovery drive. So in my case, my T100TA went from about 8GB of free space on 8.1 to almost 19GB of free space.
Months later, I still have 11GB of free space (and have World of Tanks & Asphalt 8 installed, along with Office 365 and the usual ream of apps - both W32 and store apps).
Storage isn't really a problem on these 32GB devices in my opinion.

So it shows the very low limit of British competence not to realise something very elementary in life: invention, hard work, brilliance, high IQ, intuition, helpfulness, teamwork, entrepreneurship, leadership.....are NOT dependent on ability of spelling and spending hours on spellcheck. A classic example, is a bad speller of words may have better IQ or emotional IQ than ... and craft something wonderful with hands....

I'm probably going down the Surface 3 route. Best build quality, best Atom processor, USB recharging and a combined tablet/keyboard weight of under 1kg.
The reliability seems fine on the Chuwi though...no better/worse than on most other Atom based tablets. I just can't bring myself to buy from China.

So for the manufacturer, putting 8GB RAM in these would probably cost an extra ~£10, similarly 4GB ~£5. Not a great deal for an upgrade that would make a really attractive product...

There's no way this can be upgraded. The RAM is soldered to the motherboard.

2GB RAM, 1280 x 800 screen resolution and USB 2.0. If it had 4GB (min) RAM, 1920x1080 screen and USB 3.0 it would present a very attractve proposition. Can't imagine the improved spec would add much to the manufacturing cost...

I haven't looked but years ago I got a Dell Venue 11 5130 with an Atom processor. They must be cheap now and have pretty much what you're after. There may even be a newer model that's worth looking at but I'm not sure.

Is there any difference between this model and the T100TAF available in this thread (all be it refurbished)?
EDIT: All the reviews I'm seeing state that the T100HA has 64bit Windows which wouldn't be of much use as this is advertised as having 2GB of RAM so the 64bit system has no further capacity to make use of. However, the reviews also state that the T100HA comes with 4GB of RAM but Currys are advertising as 2GB...???
