it's a legit, brand new Apple product from a legit store.
if anything goes wrong with it, pop into your nearest Apple Store and they will fall over themselves to sort you out.
even Apple haters would have to commend the after sales service (had they ever experienced it, of course)

hell, they even sorted our 3 year old iPhone 5S when we took it to them, free of charge, because it was a simple fix

good deal this, the Air 2 is still totally boss

no, the tablets are exactly the same, it's simply the plug that's different, hence the supplied adapter
(although the cables themselves are the same, so if you're upgrading and already have an iPad charger in the house, you don't need to worry)

I'd still go for EU brand new vs UK refurbed.
refurbed will have lower resake value even compared to non UK model when it's time to upgrade..they have a different, plain box and serial number will identify them as refurbished.

What is the price of the 16gb?
Would love the 64gb but on tight budget, been looking at eBay for days now and just seems like you pay high and get no or little guarantee, considered the 16gb refurb on Apple site for £299, but still undecided.

26 Apr 16 2 #41
You do not need to provide any sort of receipt.
Apple's warranty is based on serial number not receipt which you can also check an items coverage online yourself here :

https://checkcoverage.apple.com/gb/en/;jsessionid=ZdPtXfPVBZbMT4yJ1vTywKBtptZmH4hvscy1T1BdWqdnN9G1rpL9!1472162099

As long as the 12 months warranty is still remaing and valid, you can just take you Apple product (no matter where it was from/bought from) to any UK (or overseas) Apple store and they will repair it.

as I said I have done this many times for myself and others in multiple UK Apple stores and they always sort the issues without any problems.

there is nothing online that suggests a refurb can be found by its serial number, but there is lots to say that a non UK model will have a lower value, even a recent post on misc/ ask about it on here. most people don't think about resale value but would care about an extra years warranty over £20. Not sure I'd spend the extra on a Air2 in hindsight. Not really noticed much difference in speed, the battery doesn't last as long. The screen is much worse for fingerprints and the screen rotation lock button has now gone. It is slightly lighter though :smirk:

26 Apr 16 #78
Rubbish.

One of Apple's sales points is that an iphone and an ipad is an iphone and ipad wherever you buy it. The factories churn out the same devices for all markets.

The only difference is that they come with different plugs for different countries.
eslick
27 Apr 16 #79
which bit is rubbish, no one is actually disagreeing with you, the difference is in the warranty, maybe next time you will think about being a little nicer to people rather than starting with rubbish.
tawse57
27 Apr 16 #80
Rubbish back to you. You buy an ipad anywhere in the world and it has the SAME warranty no matter where you buy it. You can take an ipad you buy anywhere into any Apple store and they will help you / repair it as long as it is under warranty.

I have taken ipads bought in different countries into Apple stores in different countries to be repaired / sorted out so don't be rude to people when you do not know what you are talking about.
eslick
27 Apr 16 #81
keep it up why start a second comment in the same way, please remember the code of conduct that the site operates under.

All Apple products come with a 1 year warranty, in the EU they come with 2 years warranty, you can take any Apple device to any Apple store and they will repair it in the first year. For a EU product you have extra rights, if you don't believe this try googling, but see link below, they even have their own page on the consumer laws that manage their warranties by.

A sorry I was wrong would be nice but you are to busy being rude and argumentative about something you do not have a clue what you, yes you are talking about. Maybe read both your comments and see who the rude one is.

http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/statutoryrights.html
tawse57
27 Apr 16 1 #82
For goodness sake - this was covered extensively 3 or 4 years ago when Apple were fined £750,000 by EU regulators for misleading people over their warranties in Europe. They were forced to clarify the warranty issue on their website.

The 2 year EU warranty applies to ALL European ipads including those bought in the UK as, surprise surprise, the UK is part of the EU and we come under EU Law with regard to warranties. I am not going to waste my life getting into an endless argument with someone about this as it is all there in black and white on the internet and anyone can google it.

You are just trying to defend a load of nonsense about this deal bringing up some nonsense about warranties as if this great deal for an ipad Air 2 somehow will have warranty problems if bought? Rubbish.

This is a great price for an ipad Air 2 and I would willingly buy one if I needed a new ipad. I informed neighbours about this deal last night and they are going to get one. I will not lose a moment's sleep worrying that they will not be fully covered by the full EU warranty if they ever need it.

No doubt you will come back with more nonsense but I am just going to ignore you now. Carry on, keep digging a hole for yourself.
eslick
27 Apr 16 #83
you see we are talking on the same page here after all, just you were to aggressive to see, yes EU devices have EU warranty, that's what was said all along. What you missed in your anger was that some of these are not EU devices and as such do not have EU warranty.

I had that happen last night with my credit card...error processing payment...

I had a call from my fraud team at my credit card this morning asking if I authorised a payment for £349 yesterday, and I said I did, so they took the hold off the card and told me to make the purchase again...

I did that about an hour ago (using the same credit card) and it went through fine.

So, it was probably a security flag, put on your card because of the transaction source (where are Rakuten based, Luxembourg or something?)...To be honest, I never have an issue with my credit card doing this kind of thing. I'd rather they were overly cautious, than under cautious...

Does not bode well...

I've asked them to cancel mine 3 days ago and they haven't replied, I'm getting worried
KevinM
2 May 16 #137
Same with me...Both of my orders are showing as DELAYED...I don't think I will be using Rakuten/Pixel again for anything, as I didn't realise that there doesn't appear to be any way of actually cancelling an order, apart from emailing them, and hoping they get back to you...which they obviously haven't been doing...
archermav
3 May 16 #138
Mines also delayed and they do not answer emails. Give it another day or two then I shall just cancel the payment.
maverik_77
3 May 16 #139
Mine too has changed to Ship by 01/05/2016 22:34 DELAYED... Had ordered on the 26th....
Does not bode well.....
Rakuten is a big company, so at-least i will get my money back....
Hassle will be sending back the case and screen protection i got from amazon....

Good luck to whoever still waiting.

the problem is not so much rakuten, the problem is pixel

i bought things from expansys through rakuten which were a lot less hassle than this

Just had an email from Pixel. They state there is a delay due to the sale and bank holiday so there stock isn't quite as flush as it should be. So, fingers crossed.
fraxos
4 May 16 1 #148
Has anyone had any luck with either receiving their order or at least a positive update to their order status?
archermav
4 May 16 1 #149
Initially I ordered a grey one ( I think ) however, having had an email conversation with Pixel, I've changed this to a silver one that should be here on Monday. The money was taken today for it from my bank.
fraxos
4 May 16 #150
I ordered a silver 64gb one and the money was taken on the day of order but still no news...
KevinM
4 May 16 1 #151
I emailed them on Monday, and got this reply earlier today, regarding my iPad order...

"Apologies for the delay in dispatch of your item - we have encountered some disruption to our rolling stock due to the Sale and Bank Holiday.

Your item is due to arrive with you on Friday.

My order status itself has not changed, from Delayed, but at least it was a positive email response...
maverik_77
4 May 16 1 #152
An update, pixel stated that the air 2 grey is OOS, hence gave me an option for white or gold around 3 PM. Have chosen white... Hopefully it arrives soon.. As of now, it is still not shipped and shows Delayed (10 PM)..
donny1266
5 May 16 #153
They will email you when it's despatched and mine arrived the next day. Despatch email at 3pm Tuesday, delivery 2pm Wednesday.
George287
5 May 16 2 #154
The one I ordered for my Mum arrived yesterday. I went to my parents' house to set it all up and am quite impressed with it. The gold is actually really nice, quite subtle, and 16GB should be fine for her. The iPad itself feels wafer thin, the screen is very nice and the speakers, whilst you can feel them vibrating the case, they sound pretty good and are impressively loud.

It's a Malaysian model, so whilst they included a cheap universal plug adaptor in the box, it wasn't necessary as Malaysia use UK plugs!

The MAYDAY Code expired on 29th April - Price is now £409. Deal expired.
fraxos

I know the deal has expired but has anyone else had any luck in receiving their orders or at the very least getting form of response? Two weeks on and I am still waiting...
Simis
8 May 16 #157
Nothing here. I had to email the seller directly and even then the last bit of information was that they would have more info on Friday just passed. Nothing since then.

I checked my bank balance and Rakuten had taken the money on the day I ordered it, so I gave them a call and all they were able to do is email on my behalf (since the phone number on the site for the seller doesn't work). If some people hadn't already recieved their orders I would call this out to be scam. As it stands I am giving them until end of money before I look to recover the funds from Rakuten as even if there is stock issues there is NO excuse for not sending the customers an update every so often, especially after taking the money!

I suspect a small time seller has gotten in over their heads with this deal. That and no doubt the countless greedy people putting in orders for multiple items in the hope of selling them on.
Lawman200
8 May 16 #158
Same boat here. Mine was due to be dispatched last Monday and still waiting but money has been taken. Emailed Pixel who said it was due to sale/Bank Holiday and it would be with me Friday - still waiting. I too am giving them until tomorrow. Have been in touch with Rakuten who said I would be covered by their marketplace guarantee if there are any issues - not much detail around what this means on their website.
maverik_77
9 May 16 #159
Another update...Contacted Pixel as i did not have any update since monday (2nd) when i confirmed to send silver instead of grey. On friday (6th) i was told that i will get the grey and will be sent today (9th). Hope this is not a delaying tactic.... Will update here tomorrow if it was sent out as promised.

For anyone not following closely, this was an order for grey on 26th.

That being said, i don't see Pixel making many sales by recommendation from this website in future unless they honour the orders.. The time for a sorry email and refund has long passed..
Owniee
9 May 16 #160
I've ordered mine on the 29th and have tried contacting them twice, and am still waiting on a reply. This was for the 64gb Silver model. Hopefully i'll get a reply soon but i'm not crossing my fingers.
fraxos
9 May 16 #161
I have contacted Rakuten and I would advise that all of you do the same. To Rakuten's credit they have been really prompt and reached out to Pixel. Not holding my breath for an answer but if we all complain maybe they will take some action against. Sellers like them should be banned as far as I am concerned...
donny1266
9 May 16 1 #162
of course people abused this code. I have had mine delivered now but I know some people were buying 5 or 6 and selling them on. It's difficult for a small company to cope with this.
fraxos
9 May 16 #163
That is very true but they could have dealt with this by limiting to say 2-3 items per order...In any case they should have been better at communicating. As it happens after having spoken to Rakuten I have just received an email from Pixel offering me a Space Grey model instead of the Silver one I ordered. Given others here have said that they were offered the Silver rather the Space Grey they had ordered it makes me wonder if they have any stock whatsoever...
KevinM
9 May 16 #164
I jut got an email from them trying to swap my Silver order for a Space Grey one, so sounds like they now have Space Grey back in stock, but doesn't sound hopeful for the Silver orders...

I would imagine if they thought that they were getting some Silver Air 2's in stock within the next week, they wouldn't be offering Space Grey ones as an alternative...So, I have asked them to cancel my order, and issue a refund...
archermav
9 May 16 #165

Mines just been delivered. As stated earlier in the thread, comes with an adaptor but there is a UK plug in the box anyway.

10 May 16 #169
Did you order the Silver one? If so, the plot thickens as Pixel now claim that the SIlver one is out of stock...
archermav
10 May 16 #170
Originally the grey, then had to change that to silver as Pixel reckoned it was easier to get.
fraxos
10 May 16 #171
