Yup, it's fine. Lots of previous on this and just last Thursday I did the ASK offer on 3 cards in the same way purchasing giftcard credit on each. Tracked with the cashback showing today. I also did the last Pizza Express one before Christmas in the same way.

I agree, as long as you buy the card instore and the transaction goes through their standard terminal, I can't see how Amex would know. All they get is a Merchant Id, date and amount.

Order just a pizza with your NUS card if you want and pay with the giftcard. With the giftcard balance, repeat and repeat. You don't have to spend the giftcard in one visit.

So if I buy a giftcard for £50, I get £20 back. I then buy I £84 dinner on a Monday and show my NUS card and this costs me £50 which I pay for using my giftcard. I end up getting £84 worth of food and drink for £30. That's an attractive 64% off. If the dinner was £33, it would cost me £20 after NUS Discount which I could pay for using my Amex credit. Only problem is that I would be left with £30 on the card to get rid of!

Could get double bubble with my NUS card I assume but that would need a big bill!
