As I mentioned earlier though, some people only bought a few boxes (not 15) with other items to hit the £20. Because the Freddos where cancelled they got charged delivery on the other items, think it warrants a complaint.

Except it's not. I took a chance at a misprice, understandably it wasn't honoured, and that's it. Amazon have processed orders that have been priced incorrectly before because what they gain in PR and customer satisfaction can be worth the monetary hit.

But to go one step further and actually complain to the customer service department about having your order cancelled is laughable.

This is exactly why I complained as they cancelled my other items aswell . Probably the reason they gave me £15 promo credit .

Well iv fallen for this crap as well now, got an email 6 days after ordering saying 'price change now been cancelled etc' What they didnt say in the email was they also cancelled other items I ordered and have been waiting all week for!
In the online chat with akilan he is saying I just need to re order the items now but he will give me free 1 day delivery, when I checked, the freddos are obviously like £18 now so cant be assed with them, a tshrit I ordered has also gone up £6, this is ****. Why did they need to cancel my other items?!

Well, considering these were addon items a lot of people ordered something else to make up the price, the Freddos got cancelled and then the remaining items were sent and because the price was under £20 they were charged P+P. Seems logically for Amazon to apologise, one way or another.

also just had a refund for some cat food (refund amount is more than I paid)

have never contacted them about the cat food as it arrived without issue, so no idea what that's about perhaps someone has pressed the wrong button :smiley:

I think it's idiotic for anyone to make a complaint when this was clearly an error. It was exploited by users on here, they got greedy, and Amazon noticed. Quite how Amazon are required to issue compensation I will never understand. But, that's the culture we live in now. Anything for a freebie.. If only these people realized it makes them look like beggars...

I have received £20 account credit, was also offered the freddos but I'd have to purchase at full current price and then they would refund me the extra, making them £1.39 for 60

My whole order was cancelled not just the freddo's. That's why I complained.
I'm also a prime member.
I don't care what anyone says you can complain if you want, i wasn't expecting anything to be fair . I was offered £5 and a month prime extension, I said no I just wanted the rest of my order and not bothered about prime, they increased to £15, am I meant to say no? I think not.
Amazon customer service have always been spot on for me, i don't know if it's because I'm prime or not but always been no issues here.
The £15 I received was a promotional credit so it must be used on something sold and supplied by Amazon, no sellers or fulfilled by orders. So they'll get it back anyways :smiley:

As someone who ordered 15x boxes, I think it's pretty scummy of people to claim compensation on this if you were in the same situation as me. If you ordered other items and they added a delivery charge then I understand your claim, but if like me you were only buying Freddo's (i.e. taking a gamble that they would honour this blatant error) you've got some cheek to try and get credit from them.

The size of the company doesn't matter. They didn't get to be the size they are by dishing out £20 "compensation" to people that KNOWINGLY attempted to exploit an error. To even think you'd get your order was silly in my opinion..

As for the people that got greedy and ordered a late amount, that was foolish too.

They have charged me £3.99 and debited my card without authorisation as far as i'm concerned because of a cancelled order they cancelled

I will check now I did the same thing bought £7 of Freddos to avoid postage, if they charge me postage because they couldn't fulfil the order I will take it further

Check your bills - mine came to over £20 with the freddos and a few little bits, so no postage charged. They cancelled the freddos and then without telling me added a postage charge to the other items I had ordered - when I queried this they said it was because the order was now less than £20. Really really unimpressed.

My order got even better when I contacted them as they said that I had refused to accept the other bits in the order that they only dispatched tonight plus it would take 3-5 business days to issue the refund for it. Told them very politely how unimpressed I was with them!

I received £20 compensation for Amazons error- I think you should ALL phone and complain. If i got it, it should be fair and equal for everyone to get it. Lets NOT be fair to Amazon, they are a large enough organisation to keep customers happy and retain our custom.

Went to live chat, and complained, especially saying it took them almost a week and to complain they were now charging me delivery on my other items. Re-ordered my items (less than 20.00) for free delivery and for the inconvenience 20.00 of my next order.

They're sending out some pretty snotty responses to complaints - basically tough luck, we don't have any and "We can't provide further assistance for your request.".

A couple of similar orders cancelled lately. Nothing at all you can do about it, because of the T&C, but they're really not bothering to handle this at all well. Tough luck, go away isn't Amazon's normal response to complaints - maybe they're getting more hard-nosed as they slowly kill off all their competitors.

No, there was no message until I complained via webchat, then I received 2 emails within 10mins of each other saying my orders had been cancelled.

It doesn't bother me too much as I ordered a couple of add-on items that I've had my eye on for a while and they arrived before the cancellation email so hopefully they can't charge me delivery now. I was only going to donate most of the Freddos to my son's school for the next event so I'm not going to miss them too much.

Some suggested buying a pre-order, but in the thread there are several comments on there being issues with this and cancelling the pre-order.

I've bought a few of these sorts of Amazon deals before, they all had similar issues with the title and description not quite matching. Sometimes you get what you expect, sometimes you get what the description actually states.

Good to know! Having worked at Amazon, their warehouses run at near full stock capacity all the time, so it's probably cheaper just to ship individual items from a multi-order rather than hold them in stock for 2-3 weeks while the rest arrives.

I was looking at the Freddos page on amazon and the list of things that other people purchased with their Freddos was just a list of games that won't be released until late 2016 :smiley:

That's pretty standard. It means that Amazon don't have stocks, and they're currently assessing whether they can get enough to cover the huge number of orders placed, what price they'll have to pay, and whether there'll be a profit or a loss for them.

If they can't get sufficient supplies to fulfil all the orders without making losses, the next step is a management decision weighing up the costs of meeting the orders, as against the impact (positive or negative) on customer goodwill. At that point, they'll fulfil all orders, reduce orders to a certain level, or cancel the lot.

They're going to dispatch all the items people added to get their order to £20 and then cancel the Freddo bars :wink:

Don't think it works like that. I think you need to wait till you get the Freddos, then cancell your pre order.

Hence why I ordered gears of war 4, not due out for 120 days or so.

Definitely a misprice as it was letting you order huge quantities. Amazon limit quantities you can buy sometimes for genuine price reductions.

I know Amazon almost always honours pricing errors (at least in my experience), judging by some of the absurd order amounts, I doubt they will honour it for this.

My cousin found himself in deep smelly stuff when he was shifting discounted confectionary at his school but out of teaching hours. It was like the school had some aversion to opportunity enterprise. This is pretty obviously intended to be the price for one pack of Freddos, and if amazon don't notice the mis-price then when they "honour" it they'll be sending people one pack rather than ten, because they won't have realised otherwise.

Do they have to declare if they are actually out of date? Ive brought stuff from shops reduced assuming they are short dated or that days date then got home to realise they are up to a month or so out of date. I would have thought they had to declare this on the reduced label by law ( i know a lot of items are still ok past the sell by date so can be sold) but it wasnt. Im a bit wary now as to whether it may apply to these.

If you think Amazon are making a profit on this you are insane. This is selling for 10% of it's normal price. Do you think Amazon base their business on making 1000% profit? Amazon have very thin margins once the 'free' postage is taken into account. On this, they are making a loss for every box.

How do I know? I used to work in a mail-order company, ordering stock, shuffling palettes, working out margins.

How many boxes of Freddo's do you think will fit on a standard pallet stacked 2m high ... It doesn't take many pallets to get to 100k boxes i doubt & as for What Amazon are doing .... Making Money ! :smile: I doubt very much they have the stock on site as why the lead times of mid - end April. They will be either stored by Cadbury's or currently being produced. A Freddo is a small item that probably cost Cadbury's something in the region of well less than a penny to make & if they sell them to Amazon for 1.5p each & Amazon throw them out at a stupid 2.3p each then there is still a profit to be made by all . :smile:

Just spoke to customer service they confirmed this is for 10 not 60. Weight confirms this and 10 will be sent not 60.

mine says will dispatch on the 29th April but will deliver 27th April so seems to be a mistake here also

​The other work around is to order an item of clothing at the same time... Fashion items have free returns. A little more work though because you have to take it to the collect+ store to return.

Price per kg this is even better than the 6kg boxes of Lindor mini-eggs from last year (£40 then £24- bought 2 at each price point).

Well, if it makes any difference and to re-inforce my point.... I used this little gem of advise twice before I realised it didn't work. I took the hit on the second order because I actually did want the game (even though it was cheaper elsewhere) because their system wouldn't allow me cancel that particular pre-order either. So, if it happened to me twice on two separate occasions for two different orders then I imagine it wasn't just a coincidence. This advise works for non-Prime customers who want to boost their orders up to the normal £20 order threshold, but does not apply with Add on orders.

How have Amazon not ran out of stock yet? Never seen a misprice last this long before!

It makes no difference if you cancel the pre-order after the Add ons arrive. I was given this same advise of ordering then cancelling a pre-order game on an 'Add on' purchase. It doesn't work for Add on orders. The system will not let you cancel it as they expect you to return the Add on items if you cancel anything from the associated order that takes the order down below the £20 threshold. I had the hassle of having to go through to their live chat service to request to cancel it. It turned out to be a real ball ache and wasn't worth the hassle.

Don't do this 'work around' were Add on items are concerned. It will not work.

I've tried to cancel a pre ordered DVD before, when the rest of the order had been sent, it wouldn't let me cancel it unless I paid the delivery cost as the entire order was just over £20 & would only be £11 without the dvd. So be careful if you're planning to do this, not sure if I was just unlucky or if there's a certain amount of times they allow you to do it, (I have successfully done it a couple of times before this).

I used to be able to do this on the odd time. If it has cancelled the game it can also charge you shipping for the freddo`s (double check order details for this)

Just check with Amazon customer service apparently not a mistake. Saves the conversation just in case!!!

I ordered 4 separately to different friends addresses and I canceled the pre orders straight away after ordering. The freddo orders still show up and have not been canceled

I doubt there's much chance of all of these orders being met. Shame, but I guess it's probably a good thing for my health if I don't get my order.
