If you shop at Sainsburys ensure you're using https://mycoupons.sainsburys.co.uk/ Seems an easy way to rack up 600 points per £30 shop. I know the offers vary slightly for people.

Had already redeemed my points and got beaten by the OP to posting this deal.
It is probably a good idea to revise the opening post to stress that the offer needs to be "Loaded" via the Nectar website/app before exchanging your points.
Also the statement "5000 points = £25. So basically redeem £25 get £12.50 back in 28 day" adds more confusion.
Points are different from cash. "£25 get £12.50 back" gives people the impression they're somehow paying £12.50 for £25. They are actually redeeming 2,500 points for £25.
Normal redemption rate:
£25.00 eBay voucher is converted from 5,000 Nectar points
Via offer:
£25.00 eBay voucher is converted from 2,500 Nectar points (5,000 - 2,500 refunded later)

Log in to your ebay account
Select the BUY/Nectar option from the left hand menu
Any outstanding Nectar ebay vouchers will display in a box on the right
Lower down there's a "Nectar activities on ebay" menu with your voucher details
If you return any ebay purchase for a full refund where you use some or all of your voucher credit, the "cash credit" goes back to your ebay Nectar vouchers credit - but check that the full amount has gone back
I've experienced a few problems recently with return postage costs (Nectar voucher refunds) being re-credited via PayPal
Ebay classed these as a "UK Turbo coupon"

Thanks OP!
I haven't spent anywhere near close to that. Doubt even 20% of that. I watched some videos ages back and did some missions, got a few bonus points which built it up. Even with buying it's not always 1 point to a pound and they often have offers so I doubt many have paid out that much to get 5000 points.
If you're only buying off ebay and nowhere else and only getting 1 point per £1 spent each time (no offers) then obviously it's going to take far longer to get a decent amount of points.

2. No, you don't have to spend it all at once, I've just spent £23.99 of my £25 voucher,

Thanks. Have had and used this same offer a couple of times before. All went well, points redeemed back to account as promised within 28 days.
The main things to be aware of:
* The voucher expires in 12 months - set yourself a reminder if you're likely to forget and lose it.
* £10 minimum purchases are needed to use the voucher. If you typically buy one or two small things for a few quid at a time this may not work well for you unless you are happy to spend more at once.

It's also worth looking for all the bonuses that are available - last month I earned 1,750 bonus points by buying tickets from Virgin Trains, 200 bonus points from eBay and 100 bonus points from Sainsburys. I used the double up scheme Nectar - Sainsbury, on April 2nd. Bought £40 worth of goods and 4000 points were deducted. Now, on April 18th, another 4000 points were deducted, for no logical reason. Nectar blame Sainsbury, Sainsbury blame Nectar, so I am effectively £20 out of pocket (normal worth of 4000 pts) and p****d off. Looking above seems another fiasco. Oh yeah, apparently I am minus 1,342 pts now...

Agreed. It's an absolute disgrace. I've also wasted an hour of my time this afternoon talking to Nectar and eBay, and I'm no closer to a resolution.
It's a never ending circle of shoulder-shrugging and passing the buck.
In cases like this, I wonder what actually happens to the monetary value of those missing 5000 points? Money can't just disappear.

The recent 20% off ebay deal worked for me but others it went wrong. I think myself and Sainsbury/Nectar are going to part company, can't be doing with this. Leastways Tesco's run their own card and bend over backwards when things go wrong, in my experience.

Dear Mr. Huang,
This is a follow up email about our conversation today regarding the missing 5000 nectar points. I have escalated this concern to our account specialist and I was told that this is a nectar issue.
I strongly suggest that you contact them again and let them know that you already spoke with e bay . I understand that you already spoke with nectar with no joy. Apparently, we don't have the option to check this on our end.
We do apologize for the inconvenience that this might have caused you.

I got the same runaround too. Just looking through my chat transcripts from earlier today......
NECTAR SAID: "Unfortunately you would need to contact eBay as this appears to be a problem outside our control which only eBay can resolve"
EBAY SAID: "I would recommend you contact Nectar Customer Support as there has been a technical issue with the transaction and only Nectar can process a refund of your points"
It just makes me want to scream.
Legally, I think the buck stops with eBay as the transaction was made on eBay's site and eBay removed the Nectar points. I'm so angry that I actually want to fire off an online Small Claim. It might only be £25 but it's the principle - HOW DARE THEY take my 5000 points and then completely refuse to return them.

Ebay customer service is awful. I received a £30 voucher as a promotion when I sold something. The item I bought with the voucher was faulty so I had to return it. Ebay refunded me net of the voucher and refused to credit the voucher back.
I'd be wary of anything on Ebay that's classed as a voucher by them.

Same problem for me last year.
Used a voucher or code emailed to me by ebay, got £50 off a laptop from Tesco ebay. The laptop was faulty which I returned and got the money I paid for back. But I did not get my voucher/code back. Contacted ebay, they told me I cannot have it back.
This is just not logic.

After reading some of the above comments I won't be participating in this one.
Regards phoning ebay or them phoning you, I never do that, always use the chat online. Much better, you get the name of the person and chat (type) away to your hearts consent. They want good feedback after the chat as they get commission on it. Never had a problem not solved that way. Nonetheless, I'm not risking my points on this.

Just got off chat with ebay.
Exactly same response as yesterday. They will forward the matter to the relevant team to look into.
That is the same as last night when I called them. You know what I got back after their investigation. They ask me to call Nectar.
This time I specially told them, I already called Nectar, Nectar said it was ebay's fault. I converted through ebay account, as things went wrong. ebay need to sort the problem, cannot just ask me to call Nectar and saying nothing to do with them. If need to call Nectar again, ebay has to call Nectar, not me.

23 Apr 161#162
Oh to live in a world of sanity where Nectar's marketing manager picks up the phone to eBay's marketing manager, gets the problem nipped in the bud, agrees on which party is responsible for providing a resolution to those affected, and feeds this information down to the customer service staff at both companies.
Never happens like that though does it?!
Sogaaddict
23 Apr 16#163
With my similar but different party (Sainsbury) I notice you say "eBay take my 5000 points", Sainsbury claim that only Nectar can take the points away (4000 laughably described as a bonus in my case). In the same day nectar send me an email saying I have 2579 pts worth £12,89 promoting the eBay scheme and another email I have -1,342 pts worth -£6,71 - I owe them £6,71, - yeah sure, because they arbitarily removed 4000 pts.

If you are talking about this deal, you need to save this deal to your nectar account. You will see if you click the link.
I presume if you can save the deal in your nectar account first before converting points, then you should be able to get the bonus points if thing work our correctly.
Just be aware, I converted 5,000 points on Thursday and did not get my voucher. And contacted both Nectar and ebay, both of them saying it was the other party's fault and do not want to do anything, and ask me to them. I am getting no where with this issue.

Seems that in 99 cases out of 100, "customer services" wherever is a euphemism for "up yours, well just pass the buck".
It was on again two or three weeks ago, it was advertised on ebay, 20% off code on everything for anyone up to Max £50 discount.
It was only alive for few hours.
The deal got so hot, about 10K degrees. It was the 2nd hottest deal in HUKD history.
And luckily, I was in time to get a Samsung S6 blue and fully used the £50 discount.
huangxq2
23 Apr 16#176
If I guess your question correctly, the answer is yes, I save the deal before converting.
But the problem I am currently having is that I converting points to voucher, points taken, but no received voucher. That could happen any day when you convert point to voucher in your ebay accounts. The problem is not linked to the 50% points back of this deal.
It has not reached the time of bonus points of this deal just yet.

I received a weekly offers nectar email and this was mentioned. You have to click 'opt in' and load the offer to your nectar card. Did you do this beforehand? Perhaps this is why points aren't being credited? It says 28 days max right so perhaps we have to wait?
huangxq2
23 Apr 16#179
Yes, I fully understand that before hand. And yes, I saved the offer in my nectar account beforehand.
I do not know where you read it from. My current problem is I did not receive ebay voucher after converting points. It has nothing to do with the 50% bonus points to be received in 28 days.
Regarding the 50% points back, only time can tell. We shall wait and see.

Not sure if you've already mentioned this but did you use a computer to try to convert your Nectar points into an eBay voucher? Section 2.1 of these Terms and Conditions - Nectar programme terms and conditions - state that 'You can only convert Nectar points into vouchers on desktop.'
Though personally I find that a bit confusing as I'm sure many people use laptops!
Presumably you also fulfilled Section 2 of the Ts and Cs (reproduced below):
To convert Nectar points into eBay vouchers (“vouchers”):
you need to have linked your eBay and Nectar accounts for collecting points;
you need to log into Nectar online account and authorise eBay to set up your account for spending points; and
you need at least 500 points to redeem your points for a voucher. Vouchers are issued in increments of 500 points up to 40,000 points (max £200 per voucher).
In case of lost or stolen cards, or if you don’t visit the Nectar section in My eBay more than once every 12 months, you will need to link your eBay and Nectar accounts and follow the process detailed above again to allow you to spend your points.
Good luck!

Yes. I converted using my PC through my ebay account.
Yes, I have done this before. ebay and nectar accounts are linked. I have converted within the last 12 months.
Ebay screwed up. That is what it was. There is no other reason.
On ebay account, the 5,000 points deducted straight away. But the deduction does not show up in spending points section, and voucher does not show up in "Your ebay voucher" section. When I try to buy something, there is no voucher to use neither.
The 5,000 convert to ebay voucher show up in my nectar account correctly.
It was ebay's screw up. They took the points, somehow their system did not record this, and as a result no voucher issued. And they tell me to contact Nectar when I already told them that I spoke Nectar and Nectar ask me to call them.
I contacted ebay again, now I received an email saying they are still investigating and yet they do not what cause the problem. Why the hell did their first email say it was Nectar's fault, and ask me to call Nectar again?

A Solution Maybe
i had the same problem, i couldnt apply voucher, tried turning off adblocker and various browsers and nothing worked :disappointed:
finally i gave up and just thought i've got to buy what ive got to buy because i want it dispatched today and i will sort out the voucher another time so i proceeded to checkout with paypal, luckily my registered card had expired and it prompted me to update it, i didnt fancy doing this from the ebay popup, so shut the tab down, opened a new one and logged into paypal, then i started a new tab and went to ebay, added my item to the basket and went to checkout, i saw the top half of the checkout showing my partial CC number so i was obviously logged in/connected to paypal and thought one more time lets try and apply it one last time and it worked
ok your paypal account maybe linked to ebay but i would suggest logging in first as i did as it maybe that during the redirection part to login/comfirm your paypal account that is the bit that knocks out the voucher
hope this helps others and is truly a global fix, pls do tell how you get on

If you mean the issues reported on this thread by myself and others, the bonus points don't even come into the equation – we're not that far down the line yet. We're talking about exchanging 5000 points for a £25 eBay voucher (in order to qualify at a later stage for 2500 bonus points), having the 5000 points deducted from our Nectar accounts by eBay, and not getting the £25 voucher.
So clicking or failing to click 'Load to card' has got nothing to do with it at this stage.

I got the email about the offer and it said activate now which I clicked on. It took me to the page to convert the nectar points, which I did, but it didn't mention the offer. I see on this page you have to load the offer to your card. It didn't mention this anywhere in the email. I've now loaded the offer to my card but only after converting the points so does this mean I won't get the points rebate?

This offer appeared on the Nectar website/app last week and at that point the offer had to be "loaded" via the website/app to activate. I loaded and exchanged my 5,000 nectar points back then.
Like you I also received an email today from ebay stating there is an identical offer also expiring on the 27/4/16 and this time it has an "activate" button within the email. If you had clicked the "activate" button to go through to ebay's nectar page then it should be fine.
I don't think those of us who have already exchanged points via the nectar website/app should try again though as it looks to be the same offer but advertised separately. I know it could be argued that we were mislead by this new ebay email together with there being no T&C with this "new" offer but it is not worth the aggro'.

spent all my points last week
£25 added to eBay account
Is that the official way of checking to see if your eligible?
How to get this offer
Convert your Nectar points to eBay vouchers ¿ capped at 5,000 points, 1 voucher per person
We'll give you 50% of your points back within 28 days from offer expiry date
Is there a way to check?
People must of spent over £5000 on eBay to get 5000 points?
I haven't spent anywhere near close to that. Doubt even 20% of that. I watched some videos ages back and did some missions, got a few bonus points which built it up. Even with buying it's not always 1 point to a pound and they often have offers so I doubt many have paid out that much to get 5000 points.
If you're only buying off ebay and nowhere else and only getting 1 point per £1 spent each time (no offers) then obviously it's going to take far longer to get a decent amount of points.
2. No, you don't have to spend it all at once, I've just spent £23.99 of my £25 voucher,
and now have £1.01 left to spend on my next purchase.
3. Yes, you don't have to use the voucher straight away, and will get the 2500 points back regardless.
I appear to have accumulated 35,000 points, wish I could of exchanged more points :disappointed:
Might be worth noting you have to login on your NECTAR account for the offer to show up.
I thought I would get a email from eBay or it would show up on my eBay account but you need to go through Nectar first.
Just converted 5,000 of my 14,000. Thanks OP
Have you linked your eBay account to collect Nectar points? Just thinking it may not show unless the site thinks you have some kind of interest in eBay.
What did I do wrong?
I would advise you do the same.
Maybe system error.
i phoned them and they say it is active
I'll convert 500 if I even have that many but it's such a piffling amount it's barely worth it. :disappointed:
Still amazing deal if you have a lot of spare points sitting around....
I didn't buy anything I wouldn't normally have bought, it's just a case of checking your Nectar account to see what's available and activating bonuses.
Voucher does not appear.
How is their system so bad!
Conditions to apply your voucher:
£10 minimum total purchase is required (including P&P)
You must use Paypal at eBay checkout
Your eBay voucher will expire in 12 months
Your eBay voucher can't be converted back into Nectar points
Check out the full terms and conditions for the Nectar programme on eBay
just to say we got the email 2 years ago and used the maximum amount of Nectar points. We waited and waited and never got half back. We got on to eBay repeatedly and they kept saying they would resolve. Eventually they said after checking we were never emailed the offer - but we were. Really disappointed...
cheers OP. very grateful.
Nectar support telling me to take it up with eBay. eBay support telling me to take it up with Nectar.
I will think twice next time converting to voucher.
Called Nectar, they ask me to call ebay.
Called ebay, they said they will need to contact Nectar. And they cannot give me a time frame of when the problem will be sorted.
This is a completely joke and waste of time.
I converted pointed earned already. Now I got no voucher. And I have to spend time and money to call them to sort it out. Even after that, problem still not resolved.
I do not think I got the promised points back.
I will never participate in Nectar points and ebay voucher again. They are just so useless.
It's a never ending circle of shoulder-shrugging and passing the buck.
In cases like this, I wonder what actually happens to the monetary value of those missing 5000 points? Money can't just disappear.
Nectar say it is ebay's fault.
This is getting ridiculous.
Dear Mr. Huang,
This is a follow up email about our conversation today regarding the missing 5000 nectar points.
Thank you,
eBay Customer Support
I'd be wary of anything on Ebay that's classed as a voucher by them.
Used a voucher or code emailed to me by ebay, got £50 off a laptop from Tesco ebay. The laptop was faulty which I returned and got the money I paid for back. But I did not get my voucher/code back. Contacted ebay, they told me I cannot have it back.
This is just not logic.
Never happens like that though does it?!
Their customer services is completely useless and waste of time.
I am getting no where with this issue.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/s-back-until-april-10th-2016-20-off-when-spend-20-00-more-ebay-max-50-off-account-2424683
Repeated from last year too.
It was only alive for few hours.
The deal got so hot, about 10K degrees. It was the 2nd hottest deal in HUKD history.
And luckily, I was in time to get a Samsung S6 blue and fully used the £50 discount.
But the problem I am currently having is that I converting points to voucher, points taken, but no received voucher. That could happen any day when you convert point to voucher in your ebay accounts. The problem is not linked to the 50% points back of this deal.
It has not reached the time of bonus points of this deal just yet.
I do not know where you read it from. My current problem is I did not receive ebay voucher after converting points. It has nothing to do with the 50% bonus points to be received in 28 days.
Regarding the 50% points back, only time can tell. We shall wait and see.
I was answering a query asked by someone else.
If you buy something that has a low chance of being faulty, there's still the risk that it might not turn up in the post.
2.2 says that they will refund the voucher. Maybe it's a new term.
Though personally I find that a bit confusing as I'm sure many people use laptops!
Presumably you also fulfilled Section 2 of the Ts and Cs (reproduced below):
To convert Nectar points into eBay vouchers (“vouchers”):
you need to have linked your eBay and Nectar accounts for collecting points;
you need to log into Nectar online account and authorise eBay to set up your account for spending points; and
you need at least 500 points to redeem your points for a voucher.
Good luck!
5000 points taken, no £25 voucher issued. Both Nectar and eBay completely refusing to resolve it and blaming each other.
Ebay services is pants.
First email:
Dear Mr. Huang,

Second email:
Hello XueQing,
This is a follow up email about the recent conversation we had with regard to your £25 voucher from your Nectar points.
As promised, I have forwarded your issue to our Relevant Team and I have taken the liberty to get in touch with them. They have told me that they are still investigating this further so they can give you the best resolution possible. They are also doing their best to trace the rootcause of this issue.
Rest assured that I will keep on chasing this with them and send you another email once I receive a reply from them again.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter for the meantime as we resolve this for you. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to send us another email.
Tempted but don't want to lose the voucher
i had the same problem, i couldnt apply voucher, tried turning off adblocker and various browsers and nothing worked :disappointed:
finally i gave up and just thought i've got to buy what ive got to buy because i want it dispatched today and i will sort out the voucher another time so i proceeded to checkout with paypal, luckily my registered card had expired and it prompted me to update it, i didnt fancy doing this from the ebay popup, so shut the tab down, opened a new one and logged into paypal, then i started a new tab and went to ebay, added my item to the basket and went to checkout, i saw the top half of the checkout showing my partial CC number so i was obviously logged in/connected to paypal and thought one more time lets try and apply it one last time and it worked
ok your paypal account maybe linked to ebay but i would suggest logging in first as i did as it maybe that during the redirection part to login/comfirm your paypal account that is the bit that knocks out the voucher
hope this helps others and is truly a global fix, pls do tell how you get on
GL
1) You can anytime convert Nectar points to eBay Vouchers. The eBay vouchers are valid for 1 year and can be used for any purchases.
2) This 50% points back offer expires in 2 days. The voucher will work as mentioned in point 1, only advantage is you get 50% points back if you OPT-IN and CONVERT the points within 2 days.
How to get this offer
1.Click 'Load to card'
So clicking or failing to click 'Load to card' has got nothing to do with it at this stage.
Thanks
Like you I also received an email today from ebay stating there is an identical offer also expiring on the 27/4/16 and this time it has an "activate" button within the email. If you had clicked the "activate" button to go through to ebay's nectar page then it should be fine.
I don't think those of us who have already exchanged points via the nectar website/app should try again though as it looks to be the same offer but advertised separately. I know it could be argued that we were mislead by this new ebay email together with there being no T&C with this "new" offer but it is not worth the aggro'.
Nectar and eBay are resolutely blaming each other and both refusing to budge. Here is a screenshot of live chat with each company, illustrating how both companies refuse to take any responsibility.
I can see the 25quid in the Your Ebay Vouchers but cant see a voucher that goes with it that i can put in the box and then checkout with. Any answer much appreciated.
Points will be credited 28 days after the DEAL expired. Not the purchase. IE a few days yet. Also not UP TO but WILL TAKE. Thats what they told me.
IE Expect the points back on Thursday / Friday.
He also tried to tell me I had to spend 5000 - not up to 5000. I told him that was wrong.
"BONUS! You earned 2,500 pts at eBay "
I tried that it does show the voucher/discount when purchasing.
