I if get the Metro paper, I get public transport. If I get public transport,I don't own a car. If I don't own a car,I cannot carry 45 pounds worths of goods.... BAM ! That's that!

Or else I work in a city, the train takes me quickly to work and I don't need to park there. And I can drive my car to Lidl at the weekend and evenings and buy £40 worth of Lidl deluxe crisps.

T&C state "Copied, damaged, or defaced vouchers will not be accepted. Only original vouchers valid". So I think they would expect to see it having been cut out of the newspaper.

It wish they'd just start putting them back in their in store papers.

Previously accepted as being valid printed out from an e-edition locally for me, which is why Cutthroat_Jake banged it up here I guess, & being in the sticks, very kind of him!? it is too.
Thanks to both OP & CTJake! ..makes for a smooth discount & an easy to read thread, ...printing (on greyscale economy mode) ..though i'll make a few for fellow shoppers ..especially the retired folk! ..you might want to contemplate doing the same <3

I've got some great news for you - you only need to purchase £40, spent £35 for this voucher to work! :stuck_out_tongue:
A few weeks ago, I happened to hit £40.05 by cheer chance, and they actually subtracted "£5 off £40" on the bill automatically even!

Just pay £35 for a £40 shop, easy enough to carry.

Or that I don't want to pay £14 for parking next to my work so I get there by bus.

There are many other scenarios than the one you have devised.
You may live locally to easily manage those bags, or do not shop alone e.g have a partner to share the bag load.
You may park the car at the train station and commute into work and pick up a paper.
You may travel via public transport yourself but actually live in a household that has a car i.e have a partner that uses the car to get to work.
You may use for convenience public transport to get to work due to distance but have a small run-around low displacement scooter/motorbike.
The other possibilities are endless!

It would appear that Lidl have now decided a £5 off £40 spend voucher in a FREE independent newspaper (just like their own monthly INSTORE publication - which doesn't include the voucher) - that's only available in a limited number of outlets - is the way ahead in the UK
Well good luck to Lidl -
and the usual Daily Mail Fri/ Sat Sun £5 off £40/ spend voucher (which is subject to a newspaper purchase price) -
the Lidl employees who don't know wtf is going on at checkout stage-
and the Lidl promotions team who don't know wtf they're enployed for

To confirm the stores accept a picture of the voucher, they key in the PLU code and it works. Did it this evening, great staff at Lidl always helpful and always busy!
