Upon collection from Argos I was informed by the collection desk they are 10 amp and not 13 amp for anyone interested in this.

Both these and the 2 socket version are only 10 amp and not 13 amp as stated.
A couple of the reviews mention it and I bought two last week and they were only 10amp. If you're not bothered about the ampage then it's still a good deal.

If possible go for individual switchable type with surge protection if connecting a whole load of sensitive electronic equipment like computers.

Not sure how individual switches help with surge protection. And bearing in mind that any decent switch-mode supply will incorporate surge protection anyway, it's best to make sure that the surge protection is a bit more effective than a claim on the packaging.

...just as with every other legal 13A socket in the world. By the way, because of the shutters on all 13A sockets, it's not only pointless putting those dummy plugs in, but it can actually damage them and cause a fire risk.
