Most supermarkets sell the equivalent for around 70p for 7 days, unless you want the well know brands which are exactly the same but cost 5 or 6 times as much.


The best time to buy these is at the end of the summer when the online pharmacies get rid of their stock. I got 12 packs of 30 for around £5 last year.

​Well here's some news for you, they have the same active ingredient as the branded versions you say don't woek, so the drug you take is no different, you are just having a placebo effect

Just realised I may have hay fever after years never really questioned the symptoms I had until a friend told me and it looks like I do indeed have it.

Cetirizine worked well for me last year but no such luck this year!

I know Piriton makes me vomit so I guess it's time to try Loratadine.

GP also suggested eye drops and nasal spray, but nasal sprays give me nose bleeds so I can only try the eye drops.

Exactly, its takes a minute to compare the ingredients and see they are both the same. I just bought a tesco blocked nose relief (lucky I was in a big store) was shocked to see the branded ones for wait for it £6-8!!! Same bloody ingredient and results! Shocking

Good deal but delivery isn't free unless you spend over £40? Minimum delivery of £2.59 second class.

I use loratadine but even with the delivery it still seems to be a worth it rather than heading off to poundland and getting 2 weeks worth for £1

while the active ingredient is the same, different variants can have differing phamacokinetic/pharmacodynamic profiles. i.e. how quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, time to peak blood concentration (and drug action), excretion profile (duration of action), etc

so there CAN be a difference with regard to these kinds of things - whether it is worth the added cost is another matter however.

Agreed, I have a weekly argument over buying Tescos own Ibuprofen over $Nurofen$ makes me laugh because you can get 8 nurofen for £1.00 in asda, or 16 Ibuprofen for 32p

also the migraine relief ones, which contain lysine, the brands want £3-£4 for 8 where as Tesco or ASDA's are about £1.50.

That's why I take the cetirizine tablets before bed, striaght to sleep. Use loratadine in the day if hayfever gets really bad. I've found the the cetirizine works better once you've been taking it for a week or so.

Stay away from big brands they contain exact ingredient as cheaper brands, a boots pharmacist also advised me on this. Heat from me

just ordered 2 years worth of loratadine for less than £20 delivered. That's way cheaper than I normally spend on them. I work with horses and need them all year. heat added!

can someone who has bought think comment? i bought a similar deal and ended up with tablets from some dodgy manufacturer hence asking.

Hot from me. Suffer from Hayfever 6+ months of the year.

I had that problem but it disappeared after a few weeks.... Made me feel that I was wading through treacle when I was walking. Now they have no bad side effects.

Thats strange, cetirizine are one of the weakest in regards to allergies along with loratidine in comparison to say piriton tablets which will make you drowsy

I threw mine away. me + the mrs both felt like zombies after 24hrs of taking one of these, couldn't even drive. be very careful. These are normally VERY cheap for a reason.

does anyone know whether its the sane active ingredient as allereze +. they were the tablets that worked for me but don't know what the active ingredient was & it isn't in the chemists books

Just to second this - Cetirizine has the same effect on me. It's just one of those things that happens to some people. My advice is if you haven't had experience of this drug, try a smaller pack, just in case - they're relatively cheap from supermarkets or pharmacies.

And no, it has nothing to do with the quality or price - it's to do with whether your body reacts badly to the drug.
