Nice little Châteauneuf-du-Pape for a bargain price. I assume it's national if they have any left in stock (I spotted this in the Prestonpans store).
Although the shelf was starting to look a bit bare they had restocked when I was in later (to grab a couple more - it's a nice bottle to take along to friends when out for dinner).

Wotwine gave it a positive review and reckoned they'd pay £12, so we gave it a punt.

Actually, our Lidl had a different Châteauneuf on: a 2013 from Cellier Saint Jean.

I've been in Lidl today and had a look. It doesn't admit to being from any particular winery on the label so goodness knows what's in it, I decided not to chance it.
Please tell us which one this is please?
There are 180 different wineries under the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC, some of the output is mediocre and using the name to sell.

this tastes worse than Morrisons Pape. I guess everyone's taste differs but for me, while £8 is very cheap for this wine, it's overpriced for its quality.
