wireless jammer? what is is, ocean's hukd? unless premiership footballers are reading through hukd looking for a basic alarm for their mock georgian **** palace i don't imagine my local ingrate is going to be using a wireless jammer to burgle my ol' mamma's bungalow when he can earn as much by threatening the local schoolboy for his dinnermoney.

well, unless you're one of the hatton garden mob, using HM's internet, i reckon i have as much experience of 'wireless jamming' burglars as you do... but i'm happy for you to tell me, and the rest of hukd, your tale of wireless international espionage and betamax thefts...

We had one of these and TBH it wasn't very good, false alarms, no alarms etc. No I can't point you to a decent product at this price but that's not really the point. This is something that is supposed to add security to your home and protect your family and contents, IMO this isn't a reliable product at doing this. Il still give you heat as price wise it's good compared to its usual price.

Please don't apologise, people on this site are so lazy. Personally, if I wanted to buy a posted deal I would go and check instore, regardless if it "may" only be store specific. I have found a few outstanding deals but am reluctant to post now due to morons on this site demanding photographic prof, links and the negative comments that follow. Well done for posting and a hot vote from me.

Fact is that if you already have an alarm this is also a good cheap way to get the fob/door and PIR. Maybe not the best set, but certain cheap upgrades to existing alarm setups.

my local store didn't have them on shelf.I had to ask them and when they looked in the computer ,they said they had 7 in stock but they are not longer in their stock range...They were 79.99.When i asked them if they could be reduced on checkouts as i have seen them in other stores , they replied that the reductions are store specific and that they shouldn't have reduced it as it is now against wicke's policy to reduce stuff.Weird! Nonetheless this deal is hot and thank you for posting.

To be fair, £20 is a good price. It's a hell of a discount on the standard retail price! As for only having 1 pir & 1 door sensor, I'm sure a burgler would rather go for a house without an alarm, and as most day to day burglers are opportunists rather than criminal masterminds. I'm sure they won't check to see how many pir's there are just so they can take your purse or ps4! I had one similar to this many years back and it did the job, I never got burgled. Shame it will probably be a store specific item. Heat tho.

You're awfully thoughtful, having taken the time to post AND apologise if people waste fuel. If people want to waste fuel making a special journey as opposed to making a phone call then more fool them! Some people are only happy when they're unhappy.

they are great deterants any alarm fitted to a house, if they want to break in they will break in but if its an opportunist they wont take the risk, im off to check local store for one for my garage as cannot go wrong at that price cheaper than a garage alarm
lotuschap
21 Mar 16#43
Have one of these fitted to my garage. No false alarms and saved me on the one time someone managed to get in, as it activated as it should and the would be thief scarpered. 20 quid is for nothing - you could fit it to your shed for that price. Put it into context, its ideal for a flat, or a garage and if I could be bothered I'd have wired in an alarm - but this does the job.

There's no disputing this is a fairly insecure alarm system though suggesting the average burglar has the intelligence to use a signal jammer strikes me as ludicrous. Bump keys, capable of unlocking most modern doors are easy to make and use though the average burglar will smash a window.

These are 1 way wireless systems, if a device is physically removed from the system i.e unscrewed from the door and taken out of wireless range the alarm panel does not know. The panel relies on the detector to tell it when an alarm activation has taken place.

To remove or add a device with the Yale you need to enter the pin go through the configuration section +/- devices select and then remove, as I am aware it can not be completed without entering the pin and cycling through the menu.
I wont go into details on here but jamming can be done using a USB TV tuner dongle quite easily.
The TV USB dongle that is designed to receive TV various signals and can also be used with software as a broad spectrum receiver so far so good, the problem is that it does not transmit it receives unless you are talking about intermediate frequencies but these will be very very low powered. As I said you need something that will transmit a fair amount of power and this is a data stream not voice so bandwidth is narrow and harder to stop, it is possible but for the effort I would not worry a great deal.
paulj48 to E_T_C
21 Mar 16#30
The dongle can be re-programmed to be a SDR, this can then be used locally on a door contact for example, as the Yale system is only a 1 way wireless system the detector can then be taken away from the system without the system knowing.

Most people will use this as a deterrent, with some side benefits. I wish I had one before I was burgled. Most burglars are opportunists and this may deter some. Any burglar alarm posted (in fact any deterrent- TV simulators etc) receive the same negative comments. In my opinion it's far better than having nothing.

Jamming the signal does not work that well, there are a few items that are on a similar frequency and this is why Yale do not recommend enabling the frequency jamming option unless you are single house with nothing around for 200 meters and have no other items that might cause the alarm to see a false positive. You will need a very strong jammer (not something pocket sized) to be effectual as only a single part of the data stream alarm request will be enough to trigger the alarm.
Most false positives are due low batteries, and when the voltage reduces so does the reliability of the alarm and increase in false positive alarms. If the range of the PIR seems in anyway reduced or the red light seems dimmer than usual replace the batteries with some good quality batteries.
The best solution is a wired solution but this costs considerably more money and needs an expert to install and maintain.

Does it come with the yellow round box to fix to to the ourside wall? If so, regardless if it is too basic, that box alone is worth this money if you check ebay or gumtree.

The big yellow Yale box says to a thief's bring along a wireless jammer, the wireless jamming capabilities of the alarm will most likely have been turned off by the owner (as recommended in the manual) due to false alarms. What manufacturer who's confident in the product recommends that?
