Upstairs in homeware Asda Fareham. Yale wireless burglar alarm. Bell box, remote key pad, two pir's and one or two door/window contacts. Was £90 reduced to either £26 or £22 - apologies for not remembering. Three on shelf this afternoon. Perfect for shed/garage if not small house. Optional extras can expand the system.

It's a 24 quid alarm anyone who thinks even by name it's a professional item needs their head checked.
Anyone who comes in ranting that only the professional ones are of any use, with no perspective need even more help.
Even a dummy alarm box to discourage the most opportune or idiotic thief will cost £10.

I have this exact system and my dog has tested it for us... It works fine. It's not a top of the range alarm system, but it's fine. The door contacts work. The PIR's work. Even calls you to let you know the alarm is going off...
It works fine.

Outrageous comment, who would pay for an overpriced professional system when this will do the same job for 20 times less! All these alarm companys do is charge 70quid a year for a battery change, that's the real robbery!

I belive the PIR's, keypad, door contacts and siren should work on some other Yale alarms (would work with my one with the proper control panel).
Ideal for people wanting extra PIR's, door contacts and even a keypad (have one in my bedroom).

Yale are the worst manufacturer ever! Don't get confused with comparing this product to professional manufacturers such as Texecom, Visonic, Honeywell and Cooper as this is definitely a DIY product and I would stay well clear of it as there isn't a professional company that would maintain this rubbish so bear that in mind! 24 quid is very cheap though to put into perspective it wouldn't even pay for the lithium batteries in a professional system's external bell!

I agree, but not everyone can afford a professional system to be installed and maintained. Any any alarm is better than none to deter a would be burglar. No system can be 100% reliable either.
On a side note, someone mentioned getting a discount on their insurance...yes insurance companies offer a discount but they generally have to be installed and maintained to NSI or SSAIB standards, and the system has to be set when you got broke in to.
So if you pop to the shops and get burgled and didn't set your alarm, they may not pay out a penny. Making that £5 (or whatever) saving worthless.

Visonic are by far the best wireless alarms , and are used by nearly all alarm companies , I no as a fit them . Yale are on of the worst , it's not professional and more like a DIYers alarm , also they can be set off by different frequencies like taxi radios etc .

I work for an alarm company and i can honestly say I have never come across a Visonic alarm. The most popular alarms are Castle, Euro ad Texecom,

It's cheap and cheerful. Alright price for a diy system. Not exactly top of the range but does what it Saids on tin. No need to compare to a texe or Honeywell or scanteonic etc...

Most insurance companies will give you a 2% to 15% discount considering what insurance company your using and what they require such as bells only or having a redcare unit or dual com unit.

It doesn't need to be the best alarm on the market, it only needs to be better than what the bloke next door has.
After we were burgled a year year and a half ago, I installed a Yale alarm, not this model but a higher one. We were told by both the crime prevention officer and the victim support person that around a year later a lot of victims of burglary are targeted again as the burglars know the layout, and will assume you've replaced what was nicked.
We've not been burgled again *touch wood* but 3 other houses in our street have, none of which had an alarm fitted.
I believe that's down to the alarm in part, and also the 3 wireless webcams motion detecting and recording movement on both flat roofs and out the front and uploading the footage to Google Drive
The things I liked about the Yale system were the range that the sensors worked at, the ease of installation and the ability have it send SMS to you if anything was triggered. We had two professional firms round to quote for installation- both used wireless rather than wired solutions and given that we live in a dead end road, taxi interference wasn't an issue, so we decided to save the best part of £700 and do it ourselves. Don't regret it but circumstances do vary and it might not be for everyone.

It's in store as it states at Asda fareham, I didn't buy it. Saw it and posted for others. Shall I get in my car for you, drive 40 min round trip to photograph it or you could google asda fareham and ring them and ask. Upstairs on the end of an aisle near homewares. There were camera things reduced and an LED work light.

Not a bad price for a DIY alarm.. Personally i wouldnt bother , but then i fit security systems for a living, but for someone who cant afford a professional make and want an alarm presence on the house its ideal.

Visonic have been going for years! Used to install Castle Care Tech (as they were known then) when I was an apprentice in the 90's. Not so popular now, but good solid kit. Texecom are just the dogs danglys though, so flexible and easy to use, unlike the some of the stuff my company use :man:

A few years ago I was on my home alone for a week, no cars on the drive in a relatively isolated area, I was leaving early and coming home late, the houses on both sides of us got hit that week and the Police suspected that both had been visited at least twice. We were the only ones with an alarm fitted, so they are a deterrent.

Also marbles on the floor at every entrance to your house can be a deterrent. If they get past that then the electrified door handles will be a nice surprise for any would be burglars. :man:

I work for adt and con honestly say the Visonic kits are far superior than our own wireless systems .
And they are the most popular quality wireless alarm online if you research it .
