I happen to find user reviews quite helpful - especially if you learn to recognise the decent ones and ignore the trolls.

Thanks for the deal, bought.
I would recommend downloading the installer from the site rather than using Steam, as you can then apply the patch from: http://www.wrcthegame.com/new-patch-now-available/ to update it to version 1.01. There are a list of fixes on that link. I couldn't find any way to update the Steam version.
The installer download is a zip file, but Windows wouldn't open it for me. Winrar did the job. You then mount the iso, put in the key, install the game and apply the patch.

Bought last night and about 2-3 hours into the game.
It's not the best rally game of all time but it's £1.44 so I've already for more than my money's worth from it.
Also, I'm playing in a laptop with an intel 4000 igpu at 1366x768 and it appears to be ~30fps.

Steam reviews are an irrelevance - man up and try this out for £1.43 it's a decent rally game for sure.
My opinion is also irrelevant in the scheme of things - just very tired of people placing any relevance on what complete strangers are saying about a game before even thinking about buying it.

Yeah I've already got this and 5.
For the price of half a pint I'd thought I'd share it..I think the poor reviews are due to the handling. But with me being a pad player it seemed ok for me.
It's not dirt rally by any means.
But I do like arcadey games anyway.

The only pint I know the price of is a pint of milk :P I ignore reviews entirely. Best advice of all is just look at the description of the game, the genre, the studio, and the look of the game - then try it if you think you're going to like it. I've always bought games based on these things since I started buying PC games in 1995 and the amount of games I found I'd totally wasted my money on since then can be counted on about 1 and a half hands I reckon. That's not exactly a bad success rate several hundred games later. I fail to see why anyone would pay any attention to Metacritic, Steam or anything. I've seen games I've hated get great reviews and games I've adored get rubbish reviews.
