Can you buy this for ~£13 from xbox Russia, but later buy the season pass from xbox UK (if the season pass goes on sale in the future)? Or is the game tied to using the season pass from its own country of origin?

It depends on your credit card conditions. Supposedly, Revolut is giving you a better exchange rate and doesn't charge fees. I have used a number of different credit cards and some already come quite close to what Revolut offers, others do charge quite a bit more in terms of fees and an unfavourable exchange rate.
Revolut is using Mastercard. Cant see them having a problem with Mastercard...

The other day I bought a game off the Russian store with Revolut. I had to try around 5 or 6 times before it worked. I checked with Revolut and they said that Revolut is not officially approved by Microsoft, whatever that means. Anyone else had problems?

I can only see 360 games on the Russian store. When I click on any Xbox one game, it takes me to US store. How do I do it?

Get the VPN running in the background and set it to Russian connection.
Go to Xbox.com as usual in English and find the game you want to buy.
One the page of the game you want to buy, scroll down to the bottom and on the left corner it will say United Kingdon (or similar) click that and then change the country on the next page to Russia (or wherever you want).
Buy the game which should now be displayed in Russian.
First time you do it you wll need to register a Russian address, suggest look for a Hotel address or something in Moscow...
Then pay by whatever means you want, credit or card etc, I like Revolut as they are supposed to give free exchange rates and it is pre pay so more secure

If you buy credit you rarely use it all up though... with Revolut you can spend it anywhere that accepts a credit card or withdraw back to your bank account.
After you set up the VPN and Revolut for the first time, you can just click `BUY` next time.

yes it's an app on a PC or mobile phone, works well on mobile, but the Xbox store is a bit more fiddly on the phone but gets the job done.
