Just got back from Halfords buying this bike. They're running a spend and save promotion online which brings the price down to £489.99 which is already a bargain. Then you can take off 10% for British cycling membership (this is around £20 if you don't have it already), also TCB tracked at £14.83 for me. That's a lot of bike for £426 :)

Anyone using it for on road rides. Any recommendations from changing tyres to suit better for road rides. Can we order it with different tyres from Halfods. Thanks

Ordered click and collect and stated I wanted to collect it boxed as they did such a poor job with my last bike (changed gear and chain came off the front chainring taking a lot of paint with it) and when I went to pick up the order on Tuesday they didn't bother to read the order and had assembled it then was told to order another one for Friday. Did not bother it's no wonder halfords name is not regarded highly anymore

Looks like it's still got adjustable dropouts too for all you crazy SS conversion freaks
At this price surely it makes the frame worthy of more expensive upgrades as and when things wear out ? On that note I'm off to thiefbay for a butchers . . . . . . bye :stuck_out_tongue:

Quite heavy at 13.2 kg but nice nevertheless.

Nice bike, well reviewed. Had a quick look at the link and a box popped up saying 0% interest on bikes over £399 if that helps anyone?Hot.

The older black model was better. This new model is OK but not as good, and the colour - meh.

And your point? My Porsche cost me £250 and my bike over 10 times that.

Or you could buy a mark 5 Astra with 70k and full m.o.t. and tax for 6 months

I reckon I'd get arrested if I tried driving that down some trails though, just a slight flaw in your logic.

Are you trying to make the bike more appealing?

this bike is great for the money. i read a bit in a magazine about the fork and they said you might need to trim down the spacers inside to get its full performance. something to keep in mind if it doesn't fell right.
