Purchased this online today. Chose to collect it from a North London Vodafone store as the chances of me being home when it get delivered were slim.
Vodafone took my payment - There was no "use existing sim" option so I went with the additional £10 credit option. Received a number of emails confirming the purchase and finally the following email.
Thank you for choosing Vodafone. Your order WEB-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx has been reserved for you at our XXXXXX store. Please check the below information before arriving in store and note that you will need to collect your order within 14 days. Please allow at least 20 minutes to collect your order in store.
Just to be on the safe side I left it over 6 hours before venturing out. I didn't want to seem too eager.
Turned up at the store, with all the ID and an email print out. All the staff were busy but I was acknowledged and offered a seat. Good service so far. I was eventually served and the phone was collected from wherever they keep them.
Things were clearly going too well.
First they couldn't process it in the system as 'Mr' was apparently missing from my order. I had already paid online remember and filled out all the required fields to do so. 20 mins on a call to support late. "Okay that's sorted"....."Oh wait...." "We cant give you this phone, your order isn't showing as here yet"
I was like "here is the email, it said wait 20 minutes....Doesn't it come from the stock you have in store?"
"Yeah the system says it's not here...it might be here tomorrow."
I was like "you have one in your hand, I'll take that one"
"no this is the stock for the store, the system wont let you have this phone"
....
....
....
I'm 'like whatever' it's only a £100 phone - "Okay, no worries, I'll have a refund"
"I can't give you a refund, you purchased it online"
....
....
For a moment I thought it was a wind up. But sadly, no it wasn't. I left store in disgust, £110 lighter with no phone, and a little sickened with humanity. I shed a small tear as I paid the £1.20 for my car parking.
Bravo Vodafone, you have really nailed your "Click & Collect" system.

Bought mine last September for £99. Still think that considering it's slightly over £100 (once unlocked), there's nothing that comes remotely close for shear bang for the buck.
Sounds a great phone , with a good battery for the money . Am keeping hold of my iPhone 6 Plus till it dies , just finished my contract and will get rolling sim only . But once it's dead am getting phones like this or the zenfone 5 deal that I got me mum on here the other day .

Moving to android you will miss the graphics power of the iPhone unless you spend big on an android, you can pick up many brute force high processing power android handsets quite cheap, but none have a good gpu so when it comes to anything graphics related, you will certainly notice a huge difference compared to an iPhone. iPhone doesn't need high specs to push a poorly coded OS (poorly coded on purpose I may add), but get an android handset with a good gpu and you'll love it

I've had it for about 6 months and while it is a terrific phone for the price, for me I find the camera a little bit lacking, I know you get what you pay for in this regard and to be fair Vodafone fixed it under warranty when I'd dropped it and the screen had become unresponsive no questions asked. I am very clumsy with phones and have dropped it numerous times, most recently down about four flights of concrete stairs at Goodison Park during some over exhuberant celebrations and it is a tough **** I'll give it that.
I travel a lot with work and I like to snap away without taking a camera, the pictures are nearly always blurry and the HDR is crap, I class myself as a half decent photographer and with a better app like A Better Camera you can get nice snaps but it requires a lot of fiddling so I think I'm going to shell out for a more expensive phone with better camera. Any advice by the way would be much appreciated.
I'm with ya mate. The phone itself is brilliant for the money, keeps up with my old Nexus 5 which had much superior specs but the camera really lets itself down. I'm going to sell mine too (very reluctant to) but need a better camera as I take alot of pics.

I've had this phone for just over a week, after my LG G3 died. I'm amazed at the quality of it for the price!
With the exception of the screen (1440p vs 1080p) this phone equals and surpasses my G3. Considering the G3 was a flagship phone over a year ago, the Ultra 6 is incredible for the price!

Couple of questions, t
1. this is nano-sim, right?
2. I intend using it on three, so I'll have to get a new sim card so
- is it fairly straightforward/free to get a replacement/keep number
- Anybody had any "can't unlock" experiences?

Yes, it's nano sim

Look up the vodaphone forums, it's flooded with posts about the problems this phone has.
Father in-law has one and originally i thought it was great for the money, but it's gave him nothing but trouble.
It removed all his contacts and now randomly goes in to silent, making him miss calls. Only cure is to restart and then it'll go it to silent again randomly that day.

15 Mar 16#27
I think this is an Android issue, not Vodafone specific, and seems to relate to Bluetooth being turned on and off, which in some cases then puts the phone into silent, and only a reboot can revive the ringtone.

Got one last time it was £99 and they are superb for the money. If you are thinking it cant be that good for that much money as I thought then you are wrong. I took the chance and I'm amazed. What else can you need that this doesn't give you ? Only one annoying thing is camera does not have a quick activate button unlike my old Nokia which can be a bit annoying when you want to snap something fast. preecey to hammish21

Yes, and from what I can see unlock codes start from £10.75 on eBay for the J5.
You would be better off buying the Smart Ultra 6 as it's a faster phone with more RAM and a better screen, but if a better camera is important to you as well as the fact you can hold it one handed then perhaps the J5 would be more suitable.

Great phone for the money. Case gets a bit creaky and the camera is a bit pants (and over exposes everything) but otherwise a bargain handset!
elbs
15 Mar 161#81
got this last time it was 99 quid.
honestly would not recommend it, just a frustrating user experience that isn't worth the hassle in spite of the low price IMO. poorly optimised ROM & software with lag, crashes, lock ups, and more. poor build quality. no chance of software updates of any kind whatsoever. and a truly terrible camera. my moto g 1st gen's 5MP camera takes better shots than this - it's that bad (for a 13MP camera).
spend a bit more and get something else. the very poor software optimisation on this phone makes it perform worse than other phones with worse specs, and never lives up to potential of it's own pretty good hardware specs.
preecey to elbs
15 Mar 16#85
You must have a faulty unit. I'm very tech-savvy and have noticed none of the issues you've mentioned.
I do, in part, agree with your camera comment. In low light it's a bit pants, but OK in decent lighting.

No need to even root it...the P8000 ships rooted.
A good old factory reset wiping your SD card at the same time is worth a go first, failing that as Waynehardy said..just download the lastest firmware and re-flash it.
also worth checking setting>about>system updates as Elephone released a new cleaned up rom just a few weeks back with stock android launcher etc...

For anyone who is having problems hitting the "keep current sim" option in time, one option might be this: on the "choose bundle" page, right-click and choose "view page source". Then on the page of html code that opens up, search for the word "keep" - you will notice a big long clickable hyperlink below a heading that says Keep your existing Vodafone SIM. That link is the code for the button that is hiding from you! Click it and you should be taken to a page that shows you have it in your basket and the Choose your Big Value Bundle selection says "You've chosen to keep your existing Vodafone SIM".

Only issue has been with my Jawbone up. But that's probably me. The phone runs everything else I have thrown at it. Not sure why folks need to spend any more than this?

I bought this to replace my LG G2 which accidentally dropped.
Not as smooth as the LG G2, but rivals it in almost every way including battery life.
The camera is however a let down. It uses the same implementation as alot of other cameras including Moto G 3rd Gen and Oneplus One (imx214, f2.0) and the imx214 is theoretically more advanced than the imx135 used in LG G2 & LG G3.
The software implementation is the major letdown. The exposure is almost always too dark probably due to the botched autofocus and autoexposure. Auto white balance is mostly wrong and photo always appear unauthentic. That's not helped by added contrast which is suppose to make the photo more vibrant (see iphone 4).
My experience is that if you do get a hit photo (perfect lighting and perfect focus) the picture is as good as any other flag ships.
Open Camera on playstore is the best app for any still photos. It takes time to focus.
However. Theres only so much those app can do. I figure that if a developer could port the libs and camera configurations from moto g 3rd gen then we will get a far better camera.
The camera isp in snapdragon 615 is equivalent to that of snapdragon 801. I believe.

Hi Protagonist What is your opinion on the Google Camera App in the playstore, When used on this phone?
Protagonist
15 Mar 161#135
It's nice and simple and has a good HDR but doesnt focus as well as the coloros camera.
A nuisance is that you cant turn off the shutter sound with the coloros (and google camera) without root.
As mentioned above. The photo will always underexpose and be too dark, too constrasty and too inaccurate no matter what camera app you use. To fix the poor camera you need a developer to graft the configurations from one plus one or preferably the Moto G 3rd gen. However, there's not many developers out then for this phone.
I read that vodafone will be releasing marshmallow for this phone. Maybe if this is reported as an issue they could get ZTE to fix it.
The front camera takea decent pictures. However, at the moment there's a problem (also other chinese phones) with extremel poor quality and dark video calls in certain videochat apps. Can't report to vodafone as im working full time with 2 kids and really lucky to find time to type this up on my phone (smart ultra 6  )
Great phone and hardware. Just shoddy software implements

Had this since release day. Still gets my iphone and samsung s5 owning friends angry when i show them what it can do (less so when they touch it, very plasticky) for the £110 it cost.
Would love to see a new version this july with android N, a gyroscope, newer chipset and a better camera for £130 or less, and then watch sony and samsung shares plummet.
My top tip, avoid installing apps to the SD card, otherwise it laaaaaaaaaaaaags (android 5 fault, not phone).

It might be made by ZTE but it is not a straight forward rebadge should be more considered a hybrid version of the blade 6 and 6+. The neither of the blades screen are anywhere near the quality of the Ultra 6 and that is not the only difference.

Read back above, if you refresh the 'choose bundle' page and are quick enough the "keep existing sim" option flashes up. Click on it before it vanishes (its very quick) and voila - its £99 in your basket!
Somebody also described a view source method above too.
Not sure how I'm going to get on with the size, hopefully its like TVs and you stop noticing its downside after a bit.

Click it and you should be taken to a page that shows you have it in your basket and the Choose your Big Value Bundle selection says "You've chosen to keep your existing Vodafone SIM"
THANK YOU PHILOMENA

Defo an Android issue but still going to be Vodafone's responsibility to put right. The cause seems to be the latest Android update. Nothing can be done until another update comes out which could be anytime or never with Vodafone. If you have this issue then the phone is as good as ruined.

Great phone, I've had mine for about 6 months now. The screen is fantastic for a phone of this price, it's responsive and not overloaded with software, although there is some from Vodafone. Some of it can be removed and I use Apex Launcher to hide those that can't. The camera is impressive too. For those wondering, it does work with a 64GB microSD card.
My only complaints are the build quality is a bit iffy (but not terrible) and the built in speaker is naff.
If you don't play the most demanding games or have the need for a super camera, I don't see much point in getting a premium phone. Save the money and get this bad boy instead!

I am very tempted by this phone, but it seems that the SU6 seems to have less support for custom ROMs than bigger brand phones. So the likelihood of getting future android updates either official or custom ones seems a lot lower than the likes of bigger brands :/

i have seen the same issues on multiple SU6's - so i doubt that.
perhaps I am more more aware of these faults that others may not be bothered by.
but then again if my moto g 1st gen could (with its meagre specs) could have a better user experience with none of those problems, the fact that the SU6 with its significantly better specs can't manage that says it's not worth buying IMO.

In contrast, I found my old Motorola G 1st Gen to be very laggy.
The amount of times the launcher would redraw resulting in a wait of three or four seconds after hitting the home button before my icons reappeared was painful. Couldn't wait to get rid of it. That was with the stock launcher, Google Now Launcher and Nova Prime.
Perhaps we have different perceptions on lag and performance!
Have experienced no launcher redraws at all on my SU6.

Having done plenty of careful research beforehand, I eventually decided to purchase my Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 from TescoDirect.com last autumn, because I had some Clubcard Boost vouchers to redeem. In total this phone cost me just £95.00 and at that price-point, imho it offers truly remarkable value for money !
The gorgeous full HD 1920 x 1080p 5.5" IPS LCD capacitive touch-screen boasts a 401 ppi pixel density and is unsurprisingly razor sharp. With 2 GB of internal RAM there is no discernible lag when using the internet and the overall user experience leaves nothing to be desired in that respect.
When the Smart Ultra 6 was first released last year, accessories were unfortunately unavailable, but eventually I managed to track down an excellent case on Amazon (see 'link' below) and reckon it represents fantastic value for money, costing just £3.90 including free UK delivery.
Note that this case is made from Premium PU (PolyUrethane) split leather, but is nicely finished, looks smart and has all the correct cut-outs for the rear & front cameras, plus a magnetic fastening tab for secure opening & closing.
Inside the case, on the left there are three vertical credit card slots, plus a space behind these for storing pound notes. The phone is held in place on the right-hand side by a fairly firm but secure gel case, which is partially glued underneath, thus allowing the phone to be angled in landscape mode for watching Youtube clips etc.
Admittedly many of the leading flagship phones from established brands such as LG, Samsung or Apple etc may well possess superior specifications, but then they usually tend to cost at least 5 or 6 times the price of the Smart Ultra 6 !!
There are plenty of cheap options to unlock this phone via ebay, but of course doing so will naturally invalidate the manufacturers warranty, so the choice is yours.
Hope this info helps ?

" but I have the order ref "

If you want to wait a month for a phone with absolutely no reviews from a brand you've never heard of then go ahead with that dodgy looking Chinese import... and good luck with any warranty claims if any problems were to arise.
On the other hand you have this Smart Ultra 6. Well reviewed, made by a respectable Chinese manufacturer (ZTE) and sold by a UK-based retailer so no issues with regards to warranty claims.

Just for the record, I forgot to mention that if you decide to go through the correct channels in order to unlock your Vodafore Smart Ultra 6 handset, it is absolutely no use whatsoever taking this phone into an official Vodafone store to do so, because for quite a while now, members of staff are no longer permitted to unlock ANY of the mobile phones that they sell....period !!!
They are indeed a totally c**p company to deal with, although had this phone not been available elsewhere (via TescoDirect.com), then I would definitely not have touched it with a proverbial barge-pole, despite the amazing price !

Got mine last night. Decent phone. Slightly larger than expected but I got used to that fairly quickly. I was a bit apprehensive about the camera after comments on here, but it is much better than the 1st gen Moto G which I have upgraded from. Will give it a good run over the weekend after having bought a screen protector and a few cases.
Anyone recommend a screen protector for these phones. I don't think this phone has any kind of gorilla glass so want to keep it safe but also don't want to ruin the use of it with rough screen savers. My Moto G has a Tuffskinz screen protector which is excellent but I cannot seem to find one for the Vodafone

You can set up tethering.
Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot
If you find it doesn't work then it may be that your network doesn't allow tethering.
Three (Pay As You Go) and iD Mobile (contract) don't allow it, and neither do old T-Mobile/Orange plans.

Don't know whether to purchase directly from Vodafone or Amazon as its the same price (if I can manage to click the button) I just want to know in terms of warranty, if the phone goes faulty etc. Which will be the safer option?

Amazon by far.

It arrived and for the price I am confident in saying it could be the best phone available. It has a brilliant screen, handles any app I can throw at it with ease although I am not a serious gamer, the camera seems perfectly fine to me (some reviews say that it is below par but I wonder if they are comparing it to phones several times this price). The main drawbacks I can see are the battery life is not great unless you use the battery saver mode and choice of accessories is not that great. Overall though I would recommend this phone to anyone. I much prefer this to the iPhone 6 it replaced.

I find the battery life on mine to be outstanding. I can easily manage around 6 hours of screen on time if I'm connected to my EE Osprey MiFi hotspot for data.
If I'm using mobile data rather than my hotspot then obviously the battery will deplete a little quicker, but even then I still manage 4.5-5 hours of screen on time.
This is even while the phone has Bluetooth constantly on and connected to my Pebble. I'm sure that if I didn't have my Pebble I'd be able to squeeze even more juice out of it.
I find the battery life to be far superior to that of the iPhone 6 it replaced.
One thing I don't like however, and I'm pretty sure it's a Qualcomm QuickCharge/Android issue, is that often when I take my phone off charge it very quickly drops from 100% to 98%. After that the battery life is totally fine.

Think that's happened to every Android phone I've ever owned. Which is only 3 come to think of it.
Oh yeah, battery life. This is the main reason I bought this phone. My nexus 4 was shot in that regard. I got 5 hours of Amazon music streaming + some surfing out of it yesterday. It was down to 20% . Not sure what the current benchmark is, but it'll do me!
It works great but when I first put it on it looked a bit scruffy like there was a film on the top as well as the bottom. But I wiped over a few times and rubbed the small marks (might have been tiny bubbles) with a bit of cardboard and all seems well. Really nice smooth screen and responsive.
If anyone wants an unlock code go Here really fast and works great
One word of advice which caught me out is the Vodafone uses a nano SIM were my last phone used a micro SIM so I had to get it replaced

Hi jarjarmustdie
I discovered an excellent case on Amazon and the price even includes a screen protector ! Imho it represents fantastic value for money and cost just £3.90 including free UK delivery (see 'link' below):
Fyi this case is available in a choice of 7 different colours and made from Premium PU (PolyUrethane) split leather. It is nicely finished, looks smart and has all the correct cut-outs for both the rear & front cameras plus the rear speaker, whilst the magnetic fastening tab provides secure opening & closing.
Inside the case, on the left there are three vertical credit card slots, plus a space behind these for storing £ notes. The phone is held in place on the right-hand side by a firm but secure gel case, which is partially glued underneath, thus allowing the phone to be angled in landscape mode for watching Youtube clips etc.
Hope this info helps ?

Got an su6 and honestly it's been nothing but problems. The latest is that the messaging app which I've set to messages not hangouts or messanger but messages (not the Vodafone one) I don't get the unread messages badge count on the icon. I do for missed calls fb email but not for messages. When I then go into messages it shows them all as already read and doesn't highlight which ones are new.
Can anyone help.
Texting is my main way of communication and it's really annoying me.

To add further to my comment from a year ago. This phone didn't like the last Android update and it basically killed it. No matter what I did to it the phone was never the same again so have since replaced it with a Samsung. Shame really as it was a good phone.

You can skip topup by choosing "keep existing sim" option while on "choose bundle" page, see some comments/instructions below.

But I get your real meaning.

Anyway I'm sure you're right this phone is worth the money.

With the exception of the screen (1440p vs 1080p) this phone equals and surpasses my G3. Considering the G3 was a flagship phone over a year ago, the Ultra 6 is incredible for the price!
1. this is nano-sim, right?
2. I intend using it on three, so I'll have to get a new sim card so
- is it fairly straightforward/free to get a replacement/keep number
- Anybody had any "can't unlock" experiences?
Are you logged in?
The only thing that the G4C and J5 would excel at when compared to the SU6 is the camera quality.
Father in-law has one and originally i thought it was great for the money, but it's gave him nothing but trouble.
It removed all his contacts and now randomly goes in to silent, making him miss calls. Only cure is to restart and then it'll go it to silent again randomly that day.
There's loads. Wikipedia has a huge list but for some reason I'm not able to post it.
Also, although lots of phones made in China, by Chinaphone I was thinking exclusively of Chinese brands, rather than manufacturing factories.
Thanks for the reply to my questions to those that did. One last one - any sign of official OS upgrades (Marshmallow and beyond?). Not that it matters right now for the money, just curious.
£10 Big Value Bundle (30 days)
Get great value with 150 UK minutes, unlimited UK texts, 500MB of 4G UK data and 100 Rewards points.
Includes an extra 50GB of 4G UK data for first 30 days
50 gig for 30 days sounds ok for a tenner
Power = Nexus 5
Battery = G2
SD card slot = G3 (but a bit more £)
What you are describing is exactly what was there when I bought Mrs B's moto G, but the option isn't there for me now on this phone.
Odd. I'll clear cookies, etc and try again later.
they removed it now, an hour ago it was there- see my link in description as a proof
It doesn't matter, I believe you anyway!
The link in the description isn't proof either. In fact just from looking at that link I can tell it won't function in the way you're saying it will because it has no specific item identifier in it.
Proof
You have to be ultra quick. It took about 8 attempts with my finger hovvered over it to hit the elusive button, but got there in the end. Bought for £99.
This would mean the representative I spoke to was wrong if you're right.
You would be better off buying the Smart Ultra 6 as it's a faster phone with more RAM and a better screen, but if a better camera is important to you as well as the fact you can hold it one handed then perhaps the J5 would be more suitable.
honestly would not recommend it, just a frustrating user experience that isn't worth the hassle in spite of the low price IMO. poorly optimised ROM & software with lag, crashes, lock ups, and more. poor build quality. no chance of software updates of any kind whatsoever. and a truly terrible camera. my moto g 1st gen's 5MP camera takes better shots than this - it's that bad (for a 13MP camera).
spend a bit more and get something else. the very poor software optimisation on this phone makes it perform worse than other phones with worse specs, and never lives up to potential of it's own pretty good hardware specs.
I do, in part, agree with your camera comment. In low light it's a bit pants, but OK in decent lighting.
A good old factory reset wiping your SD card at the same time is worth a go first, failing that as Waynehardy said..just download the lastest firmware and re-flash it.
also worth checking setting>about>system updates as Elephone released a new cleaned up rom just a few weeks back with stock android launcher etc...

I just stopped the page loading so it wouldn't be able to remove the link.
I probably need to reset it but that's such a Hassel.
Only problem is the size, it's huge. If there was anything as good quality as this around 5" I'd go for it instead
very little vodafone Bloatware, very easy removed/disabled
Buying on-line for £99 is difficult but can be done. See previous posts
Sneaky of VODAFONE to advertise £99 and then make it difficult to order without bundle
As you say it can be done, I still accuse them of misleading pricing?

I am no Iphone user - don't get that either! This phone makes calls, video is great, cam good and web and apps run fast for me.
An iphone is made in China for Apple (who overcharges for it big time)
Not as smooth as the LG G2, but rivals it in almost every way including battery life.
Most reliable app for fast and semi accurate focus is coloros camera http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/themes-apps/port-coloros-camera-cm11s-t3030369
However. Theres only so much those app can do. I figure that if a developer could port the libs and camera configurations from moto g 3rd gen then we will get a far better camera.
The camera isp in snapdragon 615 is equivalent to that of snapdragon 801. I believe.
I got one for £99, I had to use desktop version of website in tablet browser, very quickly scroll to bottom of bundles page an hit "keep existing sim" quickly before it vanishes . It took me a few attempts to catch it right !

Reason being, when I asked Voda if it wou;d be getting MM, I was told it's unlikely.

Somebody also described a view source method above too.
Not sure how I'm going to get on with the size, hopefully its like TVs and you stop noticing its downside after a bit.

THANK YOU PHILOMENA
That worked
Unlocked last nigh and using it so cant really return
Any suggestions on a nice slim wallet type case ?
Just do a factory reset and it fixes that bluetooth/silent bug. its a PITA to have to do that but fixes it straight away.
My only complaints are the build quality is a bit iffy (but not terrible) and the built in speaker is naff.
If you don't play the most demanding games or have the need for a super camera, I don't see much point in getting a premium phone. Save the money and get this bad boy instead!
https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=zte%20blade%20s6%20plus%20roms
perhaps I am more more aware of these faults that others may not be bothered by.
but then again if my moto g 1st gen could (with its meagre specs) could have a better user experience with none of those problems, the fact that the SU6 with its significantly better specs can't manage that says it's not worth buying IMO.
Camera is lovely i find..i had a motorola z before and this is much nicer
How's Vodafone's in terms of warranty?
I know Amazon has a no quibble free returns/replacements within 12m.
Still cannot get this :disappointed:
prefer the j5
Note that this case is made from Premium PU (PolyUrethane) split leather, but is nicely finished, looks smart and has all the correct cut-outs for the rear & front cameras, plus a magnetic fastening tab for secure opening & closing.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014XG6L2W?ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0.

But the £99 deal is still available, albeit having to go the the hoops on line "already have a Voda Sim" card option
See Previous posts how to Order for £99
They are hoping you to pay the £10 extra
Collected mine this evening @ £99 no issues
PS This is made in China at a cost around £50- £75 (my guess) to Vodafone, BUT so what its a bargain to me at £99
Great HOT DEAL bargain

On the other hand you have this Smart Ultra 6. Well reviewed, made by a respectable Chinese manufacturer (ZTE) and sold by a UK-based retailer so no issues with regards to warranty claims.
They are indeed a totally c**p company to deal with, although had this phone not been available elsewhere (via TescoDirect.com), then I would definitely not have touched it with a proverbial barge-pole, despite the amazing price !

With regards to your heavy data usage my suggestion would be to get a Three Pay As You Go SIM card which gives you unlimited data on your phone for £20.
Instead go through the contact us options and choose online chat. Once connected tell the chat person the screen is faulty and they will arrange a replacement phone and a free returns label to send the faulty one back. I've done this many times.
The Fm radio is a nice touch but that's a personal old school thing .
Whilst on the subject of cases, has anyone tried this one? Seems like a tough case but I don't want to be making the phone bulkier. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fone-Case-Absorbant-including-Protector-Adjustable/dp/B016S45542/ref=sr_1_2?s=telephone&ie=UTF8&qid=1458300326&sr=1-2&keywords=smart+ultra+6+case
Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot
If you find it doesn't work then it may be that your network doesn't allow tethering.
Three (Pay As You Go) and iD Mobile (contract) don't allow it, and neither do old T-Mobile/Orange plans.
