Went in looking for some turf, expecting to pay 3 quid a roll.
Was on a offer for £1 a sq yard.
They've apparently had 3 pallets out today. There was a full one there when I left with 10 rolls.
This weekend only apparently !!
Also - if needing top soil - 25l is 4 for £10 at wickes. With 15% off this weekend = 8.50!!

I can't comment on Wickes turf, but I can give you some feedback on B & Q. I used about 12 lengths to fill in some edges and border in May last year. It took well, to the extent that it was dense, but the rate of growth far exceeded the established grass and required very regular mowing. This in itself would not have been a problem, but over the winter the newly laid area have gone completely bare while the original has continued as healthy and green. The B & Q turf is starting to show sporadic signs of life again, but I will have to seed these areas to try and create all year round greenery.
In summary, no, I would not buy again, and recommend spending more on reliable Nursery standard turf in the future. Hope that helps.

B&Q always reduce any left over turf after a week and in my local store it is every week.
You just need to ask what day their new delivery arrives and on that evening the old stuff is a £1 or even as low as 10p if they have loads going yellow.

That's true but now they have done it there isn't a way to fix the problem, they can't put traffic lights on the roundabout as it would cause even more chaos.

If anyone lives in kent then give this place a go cost me just over £1 a roll and they don't run out at that price as you collect it straight off the fields where it is cut. Fantastic quality too. From cutting to my garden in less than 24 hours. Not rubbish that is almost dead and in clearance as a new delivery is about to come in.
Wrote that wrong!
If anyone sees this in any Newcastle branch, please let me know. Garden is desperate and I need a lot.thanks

Our local B and Q reduce their turf to £1 when a new supply arrives. You just need to find out which day the new stock comes in.

good find, but you better take a lawn mower with you, by the time you get out of the car park you are going to need it, especially this weekend, went there this time last year and gave up on getting out of car park and went to pizza hut

Totally agree. Worst idea of traffic management there, especially with the MaccyD there too.
