Usually the cheapest is always at my local Asian supermarket for a bag of 20kg for around £35-40.
But this works out at £30, which is a bargain for the best basmati rice (in my humble opinion). In store and online.

You can't really compare told to leila etc.. it's like comparing Heinz with tesco value. It does the job but.. you get my point.
Great deal, I've picked up 2 and plan to get more on Tues.

Kohinoor is better

But they sell nice wild rice, better than factory polished white rice devoid of any vitamins and fibre. Plus coloured rice has antioxidants not found in white rice.

Kohinoor platinum > tilda > badshah > any other rice > laila

Anyone has any deal for brown, red or black rice? I generally buy from Holland and Barrett or sainsbury. White polished rice is not good for health just like white bread and white pasta.

I know - that's why there are no chinese people as their diet mainly consists of white rice and that's why they were all wiped out centuries ago.

Why on earth do people post prices for long grain when the deal is for Basmati? Is it because UK literacy levels are at their lowest ever?

Bought some Tilda when it was reduced to clear in Tesco, have since tried two other brands from same store and have to say, the Tilda has a beautiful smell compared to the others, it definitely seems like a better product. I'll definitely be buying some of this to stock up, thanks for posting!

I agree it is a deal because you don't normally get this over-priced basmati rice at this price. There are so many other better options like Badshah, Laila, Kohinoor etc...

My point was my own and I stand by it, but when an argument is weak the famous "us" appear. How many here have voted for you to represent them?

Not a normal price for Asda to sell 10 kg for this price. usually its £20-22 from what I have noticed. Yes it has been this price few times last year but still a hot deal. Not everyone is lucky to be near cheap asian supermarkets, therefore it is a hot deal for lot off us.
Which is their normal price, so even though this is for a smaller quantity the price is nothing special. Tesco also dropped it to this price several times last year, so it's not that special for them either.
As for it being usually / always cheapest at the local Asian supermarket, that's clearly not the case. A good deal but not a hot one.
