We go through a lot of coconut water in my house. This stuff is labelled as Fairtrade AND Organic and is only 29pence a can. The link takes you to their website where they show the 24 can pack for £6,96 (29p per can) but individual cans are also on the shelves @ 29p each aswell.
Ingredients are listed as 100% Organic Coconut Water. (No pulp)
I dont expect these to last long at this price.

I've realised now that this is the same stuff I bought from 99p stores over a year ago. It definitely tasted like coconut water but not like the regular brands. It had that concentrate flavour, felt like I was drinking syrupy water, if you know what I mean. The coconut flavour was quite bland and flat. It does not compare to zico or vita coco or most other brands you'll find in cartons in my opinion.
heada you have a flagrant disregard for the reality here. I doubt very much you can produce the same product and sell it for 2 for 99p or 29p a can. You have to cut corners so it is obvious that they're using cheap methods which quite obviously will affect the quality of the coconut water. It's by implication. If it were so easy to produce quality coconut water at a low price then you'd regularly find it at a low price in supermarkets.
You don't have to have direct evidence to know this is happening. Take dark matter for example, we have never observed it but we know it exists because of the effect it has on the rotation of galaxies. You may laugh lol but similarly we know this coconut water is **** because it's regularly priced way below most other brands. By implication it is ****, this is obvious.

No. I think it would taste the same the day it was canned.
I described it as water stirred with a toffee apple. I'm glad I only bought the one. Might taste OK to the right palate.

Bought a can last week at this price. Tastes like ****.
The can art alone is off-putting.

Haha, I had to throw mine down the sink after a sip. I wonder if it's because it's short dated. I wasted money on 6 cans grr

If you are so concerned about this aspect why not find some evidence one way or the other, just so we will all know, instead of offering uninformed conjecture? At the end of the day it's a 29p soft drink that's probably not as bad for you as most others. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. It tastes OK too. :smirk:

100% coconut water is not the same as saying not from concentrate.
I think the chances are this will have been subject to ultra high temperatures hence will have lost a lot of its nutrients. It may have been subject to high temperatures twice. There's several reasons why coconut water is normally so expensive so I'd be wary of stuff like this.

Gnna be from concentrate at that price surely. similar to those two can deals you used to find in the 99p shop.

Not so, ingredients are just '100% organic coconut water' and Fairtrade, as I said in the OP.

Cheapest I paid was 59p. Very good deal @ 29p. Coconut water is taken from young coconuts and King coconut water is the best. I have enjoyed them in India and Sri Lanka. Not seen King Coconut (orange skin - not green) in Caribbean or rest of the Far East!. Packaged ones are from Thai-green coconuts, doesn't taste like the real thing!. Can be enjoyed pure or with alcohol !

Seen in my local (Newtownabbey). I prefer the whole coconut - my Tescos had a few reduced to 30p....

So much saturated fat in coconut, might as well have bacon.

Saw this last Saturday. Bought one can to try but not opened it yet. £1.99 in Holland & Barrett currently on BOGOF so Home Bargains offer is a great deal.

£1.99 is actually the RRP. LoL!
I'll be back for a couple of more cases tomorrow before it goes and I end up kicking myself for not stocking up.
BTW make sure its chilled when you drink it. Ultimate refreshment and perfect for rehydrating.
